Hi Guys....
I've been working on this problem for 3 weeks now and i cant seem to find out whats going on. Today i found out that i do not have power going to the ECU.
Here is my scenario:
I have power from battery to ignition switch (tested with a volt meter).
I do not have power from the ignition switch to the ECU (pin 36).
I do not have power on Pins 38, 46 and 47, that is the ECCS power and backup power.

I was wondering if there should be power to pin 36 with the ignition on?

After looking at the wiring diagram i noticed that the black/red wire fro the igniton switch is suppose to go back to pin 36 on the ECU, but also noticed that the black/red wire is so much thinner on the ECU side?

What are my options to get power to the ECU??

Thanks

The ECU doesn't get power directly from the ignition switch, it gets power from the two power connectors. On the S13, they're up by the battery/fusebox, on the S14 they're down in the drivers side kick panel. Check FRSports S13 swap guide for pictures/etc.

Bad Igniton switch or ECU Relay.

Bad Igniton switch or ECU Relay.

We tested for power after the switch and it has 12v on the black/red. :-/

From what I understand the ECU relay is activated when the other side of the coil is grounded...the ECU take care of this...no?

did you blow something or is this the begining of a swap

Its from after pulling the motor for paint and body work. I got it started after the reinstall, once the sr ran and warmed up and was shut off it would not start until it cooled off. I belive i also had no spark at that time. Now it wont even start at all.

If i want to force power to the ECU does anyone know what pin to run power to?

Lol it ran but you thought you had no spark?

Annnnywayyyy.

If you go by this attachment (click it), give +12V to pins 4, 38, 46, 47, ground 48, and give 34 12V when you're ready to start the car.

Some of those are backups, so it'd probably run without 46.

If you do this, and it works (you get the red light on the ECU), check your fuses and fusable links. If not, get a new ECU.

It ran but once it was warmed up i lost spark until it cooled off. I'm gonna try giving the pins power and i'll see what happens. If my ECU is fried and I get a new ECU, how will this solve the no power on the harness pinouts going to the ECU?

Any more suggestions are welcome....
