here it is brake lights work, hazard lights work, no parking lights and no gauge cluster lights. so i checked all fuses and the fuse for the parking lights(right side 3rd from the bottom)with a test light lit up on one side a didnt on the other. so i knew fuse had to be burt if power was going to 1 prong and not the other. pulled the fuse it was shot so i replaced it and soon as i turned the switch for the parking lights it blew.

i have no radio
checked tail light connection
grounds looked ok
what is causing fuse to blow like that and where should i look to fix the problem

Something is grounding out. My S14 did this. Turns out the wire that sends power to the whole cluster is getting fubard.

Go find a wiring schematic for your car and do the half split method to figure out which side of the fuse is grounding out.

the orange wire on the radio harness is connected to tails / cluster lights. usually people dont use that wire but dont tape it off and it grounds out... and since you have no radio at all the harness is probably just shoved into the hole. i would check that first

good suggestion @ ansky

basically it boils down to, you need to see what all is on that circuit that has that particular fuse. go over the schematic, and follow the wires until you find the short. DO NOT over amp that circuit and put a bigger fuse in there or you're gonna fry other stuff and other circuits, because the wire will melt instead of just blowing the fuse right away and it'll melt itself to whatever wires are next to it and then you'll be in a bigger world of shit lol.

here's another suggestion that may help you. unplug the headlight/turnsignal switch that's on the steering column then put the fuse in. if it doesn't blow then you know either the switch is bad, or if nothing else, at least you know from the fuse to the turn signal switch, the wiring in between is where your short lies. and that'll help you to isolate, then repair the short.

gl bro, hope it works out for ya,

yea check the radio area. the orange wire is called illuminate like ansky said. Also if you have messed with anything recently on the car check that area.
