I have a little project that i have just about got done!
I have got a 90 240sx with a 347ci ford under the hood. The car puts out 562hp and 540tq at the rear wheels. The project is a true sleeper. if I was parked next to a stock 240 you cannot tell the differance. running is a dif story! so Im just looking for some feedback on the car. THANKS,

someone please tell me how to put pics on this?

Yeah i agree. You need to post some pictures or give us more details. Like the mods to the engine. What type of tranny are you using? What kind of rear end?

What he said.

I'm not saying that it can't be done, but its just odd that someone just pops out of nowhere with a car like this. Get some pics, I know you have the money for a camera

That was the most ignorant statement i've heard in a while

Yeah, i'd say sounds kinda made up a bit. My friends 355 puts out 400hp at the crank. To make a 347 put out 560hp at the wheels - implies 600hp+ at the crank, would require some major $$$ and if u had them u prolly won't be working on a 90's 240 ( side note: 600hp that's what a 383 would put out decently tuned). But great car if it is actually putting out those numbers

You are more than welcome to your opinion, and more than welcome to voice it. That's what these forums are for. But, what makes you ignorant is you seem to feel your opinion is more valuable than ours. Feeling it's just not kosher to put a motor from one region into a car from another is all fine and dandy, calling people who do it dumb is not.

Sorry for the doubt, but nice car, give more info, its not everyday we come across something like this.

And about the whole domestic engine, in an import thing. Who gives a crap about all that stuff, I used to be all anti-domestics, but when you open your eyes you realize that it is just a stupid war. I just wish everyone would love the cars for being cars, I mean they all get you from point a to point b (some faster than others, but still do the job)

interesting thing is asad on FA did some calc's on this, and that motor with aluminum parts is actually almost the identical weight of the KA24DE. The tranny is heavier, but that is behind the front wheels, and closer to the center of the car, so it makes less difference. Essentially this car should handle almost if not just as good as the 240 with a KA in it.

What kind of mods do you have on the engine tater? We are foaming at the mouth for info here man!!

First off all, if you read tater's post, he IS asking for feedback on the car. Yes, I realize that Itsuki's manner of posting his opinion wasn't the most tactful, but no need to bicker over something like this. If you want to complain to someone, please PM them.

And Tater...to answer your question about posting pics in the forum, look at my reply to when you posted a thread asking how to post pictures. Here it is in brief:

First you need to host the picture online...if you've got webspace, just upload your pics. If you don't, just sign up for something like a Geocities free homepage.

Second, when you are typing in your post to a thread, just click the "Image" button above the window you are typing in and type in the URL of the picture file. If you are still having trouble PM me.

Okay so I don't know jack about american engines, especially not 302s, 347s and 350s. That said, I'm curious as to which domestic engines are as finely tuned and as "work-of-art"-y as a 13/20b(t), SR20, CA18, B16, B18C(5), RB26, 2JZ, 1JZ, 4AG or _any_ BMW engine. Please enlighten me!

Probably none, by your definition. The beauty of it is, they don't have to be. Much more power, much less money, who gives a crap?

Of course if you cared to look into it, you'd find the current generation of V8 powerplants every bit as impressive as anything from Germany or Japan. Check out the LS1/LS6, Northstar, Chrysler 4.7 SOHC and 5.7 Hemi, and the Ford modular series 4.6 and 5.4. There's some amazing engineering there.

The Lingenfelter Vette (Twin Turbo Corvette, i think they made it 7.0 Liters) did win some Car And Driver thing, against an FD, CLK something or other, and some other cars, but this was a while ago.

One of my friends (domestic guy) put it best, whatever you can do to an import, you can do to a domestic, and vice cersa, it might take more money to do something to a certain car, but you can still do it.

Although I still think Germany has the best overall cars .

True, well- not just the 350 but the whole smallblock chevy lineup
The ford smallblocks (289, 302("5.0"), and 351W) are a close second
