I've looked around locally, such as Autozone, kragen, and even walmart
They all carry Royal purple but it'll add up to like 30 dollars for 4 quarts from them, and they don't have the 10W30 I'm looking for.

ya i've only ever seen it in 1L and drums...
here 1L are about 7$ a pop, if you get a drum, you save lots, but no 4.4L available.
besides, i run castrol gtx, works for me.

Does your engine ONLY use royal purp?
NO!!!
So stop tripping on the color of you oil and get Mobil 1.

Kragen is cheap under 6 a quart. Just bought some last week and yesterday.... No but royal purple is rated one of the highest on pressure bearing test and mobile 1 rated pretty low...

As is Valvoline Durablend, which is like $2.50/qt.

+1 for Napa! A lot of the stores are individually owned so pricing can vary a bit. I work there and good oils are just expensive man! We charge like 6.99 for Amsoil and I think we are buyin it now for like 6.39. There is really no markup on chemicals

I follow the 2k and see how bad the oil looks from then.
Q oil isn't bad either. I just used it 10w40 for my oil change since I couldn't find Royal Purple anywhere in time. This stuff works well so far. For some weird reason it feels like my mpg when up. Where I use to get 22 now I get 25-26 ish now.

you CAN get power gains out of it (even compared to mobil1.) not saying everyone will...but its been proven.
but back on track.
any local race shop should have it... its usually not going to be cheaper than any other place... im thinking about running 15-50 in my sr this summer...see how it runs.

15-50 is pretty thick. would probably only use that for track use or drag. full synthetic 10-30 should be fine. didn't notice a difference between the two.

I heard the same thing about royal purple.
You can't go wrong with Mobil 1, Amsoil, or Neo.

2000 mile rule? shyyyt son. I change my oil every 100 miles with Royal Gold Synthetic Vagina Oil.
No but seriously +1 for Valvoline Durablend. I use the 5w30 and change every 3500 miles. Its cheap and works just as good as your Royal Purple.
Using Royal Purple makes as much sense as buying a brand new vette. Just get the cheaper one with a little bit of milage on it. Gets the job done and it's just as good.

i have had really good success running royal purple transmission fluid. also saw lower engine temps while running their oil.
keystone has some really good prices on royal purple stuff, if your interested in using it, buying the 5 gallon jug is the most cost effective way to do it.

Mobil 1 is not really a great oil....also the 3k rule is something fabricated by oil change shops. I don't think there is any vehicle with even an extreme duty cycle listed below a 5,000 mile change interval.

There is some talk of Durablend being discontinued...some of the amazon marketers are listing this as well.
Anyone know?
Durablend is a great bang for buck oil if no one knows about it yet.
