So my S14 Was On The Scale Yesterday And The Car Weighted 1336Kg = 2945 Lbs....:hahano:

My "Mods" Are :

1- 2x E-Fans.
2- EVO IX Brembo Brake Swap Only Front's.
3- Evo IX BBS 17x8+35 Rims
4- 235/45/17 Hankook S1 Evo Tire's AllAround

The Car Is '95 S14 Se AUTO (FTL) With SunRoof And 90% Of Gas In The Tank....And Spare Tire And Jack...

I'll "Remove-OR-Delet" These Parts:

1- Swap A 5-Spd.
2- Delet The SunRoof.
3- Remove Rear Seat's And Rear Panle's.
4- Remove Pass. Side Airbag.
5- Remove Front And Rear Bumper Support's.
6- 3'' Catback (b/c the Stock Muffler is heavy).
7- Remove The First CAT
8- Taking The Support Beams From The Hood ( To Reduce The weight From 33Lbs To 22-25lbs).

After All That ^^^ Can I Go To The 1250Kg = 2755Lbs Or What.....

Note That The Car Is A WeekEnd Car Only...And Will Become Track Slut In The Coming Monthes...:boink:
Tell Me Guys What You Think....:hyper:

Regards,

Ali

How much will removing those beams from the hood set you back?
Would it not be safer and more cost-effective to go with a CF hood if you were so intent on cutting weight?

To Save Some $$$ I'll Remove ALL Hood Beams And Replace Them With Two Aluminum Rods...And Will Cut The Hood To cut weight And For Function....like this dude :

why dont you relocate the battery to the truck for weight dist. sake but also replace it with something lighter like an odysey battery. save you atleast 15 lbs.

the cross weight of the car is 51% BACK (Maybe b/c of the fuel tank full with gas)...so reloctanig is not good....

Any one else care to help....?

hmm, maybe the fact that your tank was almost full and you realize that a gallon of gas is around 7-8 pounds. I doubt you would have a full tank at the track so that alone reduces weight.
Remove sound deadening and cut up your bumper supports if you dont care about safety.
Get rid of AC and all related stuff.
Lose weight?
All that should get you around 2700, or just get an S13

was that weight taken with you in the car?

what do you mean by "remove the first cat" you mean the actual cat and not the resonator? also as another person said, is this weight with or without you in the car?

p.s. when you go to remove that sunroof remember that there is a track welded to the roof (possibly as a support) your best bet is to either find a junkyard car and cut off the roof or just get a good body shop to do it for you. (this is the only reason I haven't gotten rid of mine)

you can actually remove alot of weight from the tar shit under the carpet and the carpet. and run lighter wheels. like ssr type c. damn things weight like 15 pounds.
or make your car balemic.

balemia , twice the taste 0 calories. plus if your a fatty you could lose some weight to help out your goal.

Damn, Mine was 2600 with me in it.

F*ck really?!? That's probably about where my S14 is then... completely gutted, SR20, no bumper supports, no cage. That's really a great number to be at, performance-wise :)

Oh, and the S13 isn't that much lighter.

Yups, I got mine down to mid 2600 when I gutted the fuck out of it to do a DITY move...Took as much shit as possible out. Gutted trunk, took spare/jack out, backseat, panels, passenger seat...if it had a bolt on it, i took it out.

Ls1/T56 95 se with sunroof, no abs, ac, full exhaust, full interior, tool box, and jack, stereo with subs, full tank of gas and driver 195..........3150. I could see cutting another 150-200 pounds for track use only, but for a daily driver, I run 12.5s in this trim all day long. I could see low 12s high 11s if I strip it down, but it a lot to sacrifice for the minimal gains.

Don't remove your interior. It weighs basically nothing. You will never notice a difference, besides tons of noise and it looks ugly as shit.

Why get so bent up on weight reduction? Just turn up the boost a little bit higher, its much easier. ^.^

to the OP, just cause your at 51% rear weight, doesn't mean you shouldnt keep moving more weight to the rear. the whole 50/50 concept is quite a misconception. in a front engine rear wheel drive car, you really want it to be closer to 40/60 for optimal handling. so keep moving everything further back.

I know this has been posted before, but this guide is good for figuring out whats really worth taking out/leaving in. (most stuff still applies for s14's)

It's one thing to make spelling mistakes, but when it changes the meaning of your entire sentence, that's a different problem. When I saw the thread title I thought "...why would you ADD weight to your car?"

This was my last scaling session for the S14, just over 2,200lb's. New race doors dropped another 50lb's off this month. 30lb exhaust is gone with a new side dump setup in order to do the undertray. Every little bit adds up. But i will have it down to 2,000lb's by end of summer

No real secrets, the car as a whole has tons of potential on the track. The roof is a real advantage.
The motor is close to stock, save for the JWT S1 cams, JWT valve springs and JWT Ecu reflash. Going to a larger turbo next month (currently stock T28). I just put in a new Kaaz lsd, and taking the car to ButtonWillow later this month to see how much time that shaves vs. the stock VLSD. And recently switched over to 118 Octane.
JIC suspension
SPL rear lower control arms
Kazama everything else
Ford Cobra rotors
Z32 calipers

To whom who posted about the 40/60. Thats not true you want a good cross weight more than actual power to weight. Moving the battery to the rear in the passenger side wheel well is the best. Getting Coilovers and getting the corner balanced which alot of racers dont do is prolly the best thing ever!

Im at 2400 flat without roll bar yet.

I forget where I read this, but x-weights added a few tenthes of a second around the track. And lowering the overall weight, as opposed to balancing x-weights, is much more beneficial.

Relocating the battery to the trunk doesn't save that much weight at the end, even if you run a Braille or an Odyssey.

2-gauge cable is pretty heavy.

Just run a smaller battery and fab your hot pipe around it.

who said 50/50 or 40/60 is optimal weight distribution? If you cant drive worth a shit, it doesnt matter how fast your CAR is, or what the weight is. I see so many fucking punks on the street driving with hooked up cars and they cant even heal fucking toe. It's 90% driver, and 10% car. Unless you want to look "cool" with your stripped interior, stickers, and BOV. That way when you tell people you drift, they'll believe your bullshit. When in reality, you cant even fucking drive.

Wow, Kognition's car is pretty light for a 14 Chassis. NICE!

I was looking at some magazine last night, Enjuku Racing has one of their S13s down to 2,100lbs. The car doesn't look too hot but, thats a nice weight.
