Searched around but no luck, how delicate are cams, I've tried cleaning them with a hard brisel brush but no luck. Someone told me to use a fine steel wool, what do you guys think? Fine sand paper? buffing it after? LMK.:-/

I've used a 'fine' wire wheel. Basically, once you get the rust out, you're going to have 'pitting' where the rust ate away the steel. That's the big problem (how deep those pits are), not the rust itself. I like the wire wheel because it doesn't eat away at the cams like sandpaper would, but still gets all the rust out ~ if you have to grind the cams down to get them smooth again, just know that you're losing lift with every .010" you grind away.

ive had a bunch of cams rust on me before (left them in a car with the windows down not sealed...whoops), its all about using scotch brite pads (red or green is fine), buyem at your supermarket or whatever. takes a while, but work 1 lobe/cam journal at a time. if they pitted though...i wouldnt bother. ive had really good luck with doing that.
