Hi guys,
Recently, my car is making this whining sound in the motor (redtop). Just imagine it sounds like your car needs some powersteering fluid. its whines at idle, and when I accelerate, its a bit louder.
The car drives fine, the boost is there.
anyone been through this sitituation before?
The recent things I've done within a week ago:
Oil and filter change
Replace the gasket on the turbo exhaust manifold
Spark Plugs
thanks,

Kick the girlfriend/wife out of the car /whining sound lol
In all seriousness though. You might actually need a new ps pump. Make sure you use ATF in your power steering system. I've heard of exhaust leaks making some strange noises too. Might be the turbo too. You have some troubleshooting to do my friend.

HAHAHAHHA....
The power steering is fine, but I will look more to it after work. I just added some ATF this morning. The whining is still there. The exhaust leak is fixed. I hope its not the turbo..or else the real whining noise will be coming out (girlfriend) LOL
thanks guys,
any more ideas?

How did you verify the ps pump was ok? If it is going bad it will still work and then seize all of the sudden. It'll make some noise before hand.

try taking the belt off the Pump see if it stops.
It might be the turbo Ive heard lots of turbos whine making a whining noise but usually only under boost.
but check for shaft play on your turbo anyway.
