Beat it to shit, revved really nice worked great in the canyons not as bitchy as a SR.

Where's the "never owned one because they were all either blown or already swapped out" option?

I love my SR...but with all the problems i keep having, i miss having the good ole reliable KA.

but SR > KA any day

KA24E, KA24DE, and SR20DET

All fun. The KA24E is the best because it lasted until like 225k miles!

KA24DE-T not an SR fan. Love the tq over the SR and the reliability and low cost.

What if you have a KA-T?

option one, you went turbo?

I'm drunk.

Seriously though, I have my 98 kouki with only 59k miles on it. I like the KA, the torque is nice, but its getting ripped out this summer. Im ready for SR.

Im keeping the KA though. Not sure what I want to do with it, but i'll probably end up building it and throwing it into an S13.

P.S.
I think so

haha, if i would have had a DE, i probably would have gone KA-T

but my car was single cam, so i went SR. swap wont be done until tomorrow, so we'll see if the $4k was worth it.

ka? whats that? I only miss it cuz of the zero problems from the cali smog nazis and the option of buying 87 instead of 91 all the damn time.

With gas prices on the rise i pay 50-60 just to fill up, and it only lasts me little under a week.

might put a vh45de in a s13 in a few months

I have a freshly rebuilt N/A DE right now gonna turbo when I graduate but I like the reliablity for now. Too bad its so slow.

i love my ka-t... that is all, driven many sr's and they are nice too, will probably do one eventually to be a fan boy, but i have basically a bolt on sr turbo setup with a gt2871 and whips ass on the sr's all day long daddy

Haha I like how "I'm drunk" is in 2nd place.

And how are you able to make a poll? I know that can't be a premie thing because I've non-premies be able to do it. I don't see the option anywhere.

I have to say this....

Look more carefully MuddaFakka!!!

When your making a thread its an option at the bottom, you have to place a check in it

What about 'I own both, and while I prefer to work on the SR, the KA is just as reliable'?

Anyone else have an issue with Nissan transmissions? My KA trans didnt take much of a beating at all, and now grinds second. It also wont go into first at anything above 2mph. Its very notchy, not smooth like the Honda transmissions that I'm used to. Hopefully I have better luck with the SR trans and a short shifter.

adictd2b00st

every high mileage KA i've had the input shaft bearing on the trans was toast..... luckily both SR's i've had the tranny was nice and smooth

hmmm my first car is a zenki s14 with a red top SR, then moved out to cali and bought me a hatch w/ singlecam slammer. the KA24E, imo, was slow and always leaked oil:tweak: , so i swapped for a SR again. even though i could beat the living crap out of the KA, i overall love the feel of a SR. in a nutshell, i dont miss the KA at all. once u hav boost, u will never go back!!!:2f2f:

I love my KA24DE-T, have owned many SR20DET powered vehicles also and have never had issues with them as well but I like my KA-T, and reliablity of the engine weigh's on the owner because both these engines can go 300,000 miles maintained properly. All my turbo vehicles were daily driven and redlined daily countless times day in and out and never had issues...

I love my SR. KA's good on gas cheap 87 octane and your good. Thats the only reason i like them other than that definately SR.

I've never owned a ka never will... Im cool with my wayyyyy more reliable sr... Only seen nothing but bad experiences...Every single ka i've seen push it as hard as i push my sr... Bites the dust... Sad times for most of my ka friends...

Out of the 4 240's that I have owned all of them have had head gasket issues and one even spit a rod.

I still won't bash them though, I was perfectly happy with them when they ran right.

I LOVE my sr...

the only reason why I miss my KA is because of legality issues...

the first thing that comes to mind when I get pulled over..
"fuck, I hope he doesnt ask me to pop my hood, and I hope he doesnt know what an SR looks like" :-/
