i was wondering if anyone knows what size socket is needed for the big nut so i can get the spindle off and get to the axle on this j30...i found one at a junk yard for 90 bucks with only 40k miles on it!!! any help is good....thanks alot

There is no spindle on the back of a J30. It's called an upright. And the nut you're referring to is on the hub.

And it's 36mm, which you could have found with three seconds of research.

would you happen to know if there is any way to get the car in neutral without the key? so i can spin the driveshaft to remove the bolts?

there should be a little notch you can depress on the shifter that allows for it. I've not seen a J30 for a while, so i'm nut sure if its located there. Depress it and shift down.

ya i know of the main thing you use to move into any gear but i tryed that so i think i may need the key....thanks for the help
