i was just wondering if anyone here runs greddy oil. besides me. its fully synthetic and they run a pretty good blend for turbo cars. i ran it on my sr, GR2 which is a 5w40 blend. they offer other weights as well. it held up the oil pressure pretty well. let me know any feedbacks you guys might have.

Why?

Just use Durablend or some other really cheap oil off the shelf.

Unless your endurance racing it really is not going to do anything special.

Most engines fail on Nissans because of Oil Pickup molestation.

HAHA another way for Greddy to jack up the prices. I won't run anything other than Castrol Syntec. I don't care how Good they claim it is.

well its not much more expensive than royal purple. but i think its really good. i used it on autox. and i used greddy spark plugs as well. to me i felt a difference.
and i love my cars so i dont mind spending money on it. shops in the east coast are starting to carry the oil and spark plugs and thats what they use now.

You felt a difference from the tune up not the oil

Personally I dont see a difference. Just stick with mobil 1 synthetic. The good stuff. Anyways the only time I would ever use expensive oil is if I race or track in which I would use royal purple..

I race at track days for extended periods on cheap ass durablend.

It works great, even with some blow by and 410-465 whp on stock pistons and rods!

Yea, I love my castrol, Syntec 0w-30, or the regular 10w-30 dino oil, depending on the car.

i have run nothing but Amsoil in my car for years. My father and I are distributors. The best oil I have ran. Head were clean as a whistle when engine was tore down.

People like you are why they jack up the prices so much, There is nothing Special about it just b/c Greddy sells it. Ya they sell decent products but by NO MEANS would i spend 10 cents to have there name on my car or in my car.

The difference you felt was prob your mind thinking its better.

But I bet your mind feels alot better now knowing you just spent more money on a name.:bash:

I've been using Mobil 1 for a while, but I'm gonna give Durablend a try next oil change (which is really soon).

Also, motor oil is one of those situations where you don't always "get what you pay for" like everyone always likes to quote in every thread that ever mentions anything whatsoever regarding price or value. =P

there are a few. where in jersey are you? well 201 im guessing either jersey city or bergen, anyways in bergen theres ATX motorsports, in jersey city and central nj theres Wired electronics in linden and Maximum autosound in garwood.

well thanks for the responses and the not so very nice ones. i wasnt asking for you to dish out on me and rag on me for using what i believe helps. but its appreciated regardless. i was just asking the people who used it and what they thought of, i wasnt asking for a comparison.

Why would you even do that?

..... not amsoil, not mobil one. not how are the other oils compared to this one.
it was specific to those who were running it and what they thought. you guys need to learn to read.

Biased?? Not really. I pay to be a distributor and my end price is just under what I could buy Mobil 1 for from Autozone. I run it because I have seen the results of running it for years in my car when doing rebuilds or upgrades. I wasnt trying to make a sales pitch for you to buy oil from me also.

And wasnt tryin to Threadjack. Just addin my 2 cents. My bad.

I been using greddy 5w-30 on my DE for the past 2 years. No complaints at all and great results after a regular 3-4 month oil change. Greddy oil is Group IV, PAO and Ester based Oil. I used to run mobil 1 5w-30 fully synthetic before Greddy. Every oil change I use an oem nissan oil filter.

Here's a pic of my head using greddy gr-3 5w30 after a couple of months. This pic was taken a year ago.

No sludge at all and very well taken care of.

For my USDM DE+T thats sitting in the garage waiting to be swapped I will mostlikely be using one of these oils: Greddy GR-2 5W-40, Motul, Eneos or Castrol Syntec 0W-30 European Formula (Made in Germany)

Dont flame on me just putting my input :-)

yes it is group 4 oil. you did your research =)

glad you like it. ive been running it on all the cars i have. even my brothers ep. its been doing well. one way to check the grade of oil. if you have an oil pressure gauge, see how long it will take till thepressure drops. from the time you first do the oil change. the viscosity stays alot longer on it. i did the comparison against mobil 1.

True. On that RPSportEngineering article (the aussie one) it did extremely well compared to almost everything else in the test. Valvoline Durablend did nearly as well for half the price, though. Mobil 1, eh, didn't do so hot =-\ I'd like to see some real test results on this GReddy stuff...

steve shadows

No Valvoline Durablend actaully did substantially better than all of them.

that was the kicker

Chiming in here.

From Castrol Syntec to Royal Purple felt a different. Not huge but not small. Got better MPG and it felt like I got a lil power out it, like the engine wanted to rev easier.

Steve:
I got my friend to use Durablend on his KA too. Good stuff so far for him. I'm probably going to try it out on my change to see what different there is. Hopefully I'll save a few bucks.
What filter do you use?

Rotella 5w-40 kicks ass too

German Castrol is also some good stuff, I stopped running it because they stopped carrying it in my area.

Some "real car owners" also live in apartment complexes where you get fined for even opening your hood in the parking lot. FYI.
