I hear alot of talk of hubcentric/bolt on spacers. Is it dangerious or something to run regular pepboys style spacers/with alluminum lug nuts? Even if they are only 5mm? it seems to me like the bolt on spacers are just a ton of weight / companys wanting your money. for instance, for a 5 lug it will be 10 lug nuts/ 10 studs PLUS the actual spacer all on 1 wheel? sounds rediculous to me.

buying lug nuts wont do anything. the point of bolt on spacers is for thick spacers. if you are running thick spacers you cant just run big ass studs cuz they will break off. bolt ons make it safe to run thick spacers but they will still put more wear on your wheel bearings like a low offset wheel. if you are going to run 5mm spacers then i dont think you even need to run longer studs since it is such a little amount.

Its only dangerous when your wheels fly off the car. Slip on spacers are no big deal, as long as you dont run anything larger than a 5mm. People have run 8mms on stock studs, that shit aint safe since you'd be lucky to get 3 threads out of it.

bolt on spacers arent really heavy. most are machined out of alluminum. they probably weigh like 1-1.5, maybe 2 pounds. check out Powered by Max in the advertisers section. they have good prices on bolt on spacers.
