Well, im looking to rebuild my twins, I have a TS2B. My question is since its the non-dampening type, can I use dampning plates for it? Basically order the TS2BD rebuild kit instead of the TS2B kit. Ill basically reuse the flywheel and the cover plate. Everything else in between will be brand new with the kit.

From the 2, the only difference is the clutch plates from what I've seen. The non-dampening TS2B has holes in the middle of the plates, while the dampener type has springs on the plates. In my head, it would only make sense that theyre interchangeable. Change the clutch plates and you have a TS2BD

Well i will probably find out tomorrow. I went to a local shop and ordered my rebuild kit. I told the guy the situation and he said hell ask OS Giken when he places the order. If the TS2BD rebuild kit will work, then im getting that. If not, im just gonna get the regular TS2B. He'll let me know tomorrow. $670 for the TS2B and $720 for the TS2BD kit.

they have better prices then RHDJapan and they could def tell you if they are interchangable.

My gut says they interchange as the disk should be the only difference.

I paid $380 shippped for my OS super single kit shipped form greenline, RHDJapan wanted $440.

I dont know about the twin or this guys clutch, but mine had about 15k miles on it with 260hp for the 1st 8k then 350-420 for the last 7 k and it held just fine. When I pulled it it was thin but could have lasted another 3k miles. I rebuilt it when I built my engine.

K I got my answer...I went thru a local shop and they ordered the rebuild kit type A for the retail price ($670). He went ahead and asked OS Giken if I can swap in the TS2BD rebuild kit into a TS2B clutch. They said you can but you need to chang the clutch housing/cage too. The TS2BD plates, due to the dampner, are slightly thicker than the TS2B plates. The housings are replaceable and I can reuse the flywheel and clutch cover. But its gonna cost an extra $250. I said fuck it, im staying with the TS2B and what ever money I save, im buying another S14 tranny. I just got a feeling im going to eat trannies.

pretty much, luckily much was salvagable and I have sold about 8k worth of parts off of it, and still have some OS-Giken parts and other big items left.

Now I am into some chassis work to build my AWD b13 with gtir motor.
