The dual piston ones.

Are they the same as 30mm Z32 brakes?

As in, when replacing pads, would you order Z32 TT pads?

And...since these are off a S14, would using our USDM brake master cylinder be fine? Or should I still be getting a Z32 bmc?

Thanks.

Same as 30mm Z32's, use those pads. After '91 i believe all z32's had 30mm's.

As for brake master cylinder, i would advise you to search. That topic has been widely discussed by people smarter than I.

If you have 3Z rears I would get a Z32 BMC, or some people like the Z31 BMC.

I'm just looking to get JDM S14 fronts, the dual piston ones...not changing rears.

dual piston or four piston fixed? the fixed calipers are the same as '92.5+ iron z32 calipers and use the same pads as all z32s. the base model sliding calipers are another story.

Then you're shit out of luck since there's no such thing. The JDM S14 fronts are four piston.

I'm confused...I thought the jdm s14's came with q45 brakes? I didn't know they came with Z brakes. Am I reading this thread right or am I missing something?

You're badly mistaken. JDM S14s come with Sumitomo 4piston iron calipers, just like our 93-96 Z32. Always have.

Quick breakdown of available brakes for S14:

S14 K's - iron 30mm fixed caliper (Just like 1993+ Z32)

S14 Q's SE - sliding calipers (Just like S14 SE)

S14 Q's - sliding calipers (Just like S14 basemodel)

When I say 'just like', I'm referring to the rotors being the same size and the calipers being the exactly the same.

I see. Then the q45's were just the Nismo upgrade for the s14 q's and 240sx's then? I thought I read somewhere that the silvia's had larger brakes on all of them, similar to the j30's.

Q45 brakes were only Nissan Motorsports upgrades.

This is kinda tricky. NISMO is 'Nissan Motorsports' but of Japan. 'Nissan Motorsports' of the US was basically it's own division, but instead of offering all the parts in the NISMO catalog, they had/have stuff for US market cars.

Anyhow it was 'Nissan Motorsports', not NISMO, that offered the Q45 brake upgrade.

No S13/14/15 had dual piston sliding calipers ever.
