S14 auto wont rev pass 2500rpm.

My friend just got a 95 S14 AUTO, we tried driving it but it wont pass 2500rpm. We let it run for a while and tried again. It would go to 2500rpm and then idle funky and die. Any ideas?

sounds like a broken MAF to me...

sounds like a MAF problem. happened to me. make sure its installed right? or if its broken
