i have seen some homemade soda can shift knobs around
and i have tried to duplicate them
it seems fairly simple i just dont know what compound works the best
i have tried jb weld but it got really messy and took like 15 days to harden
and i was just wondering if anyone could key in some mystical insight to help me get a baller tits shift knob

Almost seems like the best way would be to drill out the bottom, fill it with an epoxy of some sort and then drill and tap so you had a heavy can-knob.

Mind you, I'd never rock one in the 'Goon, but to each their own.

You can go to your home depot, buy a thing of polyurethane for like 4 bucks and fill it and go from there. This idea seems all bad though, it was bad enough with beer bottles, cans just seem far worse.

seeing as the shifter is going to be on an angle for long periods of time (if he leaves it parked in gear for example), that's creating nice amounts of internal stresses in the shifter....

i made a sweet shift knob once.

i found the smallest shift knob i could find, then put on a rubber glove and grabbed a handfull of bondo i mixed up, then grabbed the shift knob with that glob of bondo and let it harden.

then i smoothed up the edges and put some felt over it.

it was kinda big, but fit my hand perfect :D

its easy to make a shift knob!

almost anything thats solid can be made into one, just tap it thread to the shifter and walah.

all of what 15 minutes with the right tools.

^ Not sure about the glass bottles.

Fill it with some sort of resin and let it harden, then drill and tap it.
