Hi,

I have a 1989 240sx XE 5spd. The motor has about 106k miles, I bought the car a few months ago and started it up for first time last week. The car has been sitting and not running for about 1-1 1/2 years. I replaced the spark plugs, changed engine oil to Mobil 1 10w40 synthetic, and changed radiator fluids. The car cranks, but cranking with constant pumping of the gas, it finally starts up on the 3rd or 4th try.

From my assumptions I was thinking that it may be the fuel pump? Or bad fuel injectors? When its on the car sounds fine and seems to idle fine (my cluster doesn't work). Also, I have a cluster problem, only my headlights work. I checked the fuse box the one located near the battery. I haven't got a chance to take a look at the second fuse box under the air intake.

***Also, forgot to mention, that it seems like its running rich due to the small black smoke when it starts up ***

Any idea's?

Thanks for looking.

I am new to Nissan, and this happens to be my first Nissan.
