Dragon Ball Z movie thread V2.5

As most of you have noticed there's going to be a wave of anime series being made to movies. Along with Speed Racer. Dragon Ball Z will be joining us in a live action slam dunk action movie.

For those of you that are familiar with the entire story. The movie will take place in Dragon Ball (not Dragon Ball Z). The movie is already in post production to be released April 8th 2009. Directed by James Wong. He's an open DBZ fan and is also helped write the movie. Not to fear Akira Toriyama has also done a great part in the movie. As most of you might know he has done the majority of story line that has had our Z Warriors in it.

UPDATE 2.7:

I've also learned that the movie will be 70 to 80% CG. Just like Iron Man.

James Wong didn't direct Hulk, that was Ang Lee. Ang Lee directed more dramatic fare, like Sense & Sensibility, Brokeback Mountain, and drama/action flick Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. After checking imdb on Wong, looks like he's done the first and third Final Destination movies, as well as Jet Li's The One.

My brother used to watch DBZ all the time, so I'd watch it with him.
I haven't gotten excited about this movie yet, because I didn't know it was going to be live action (every pic I had seen about the movie to date had been from the anime.)

In any case, I'm disappointed there is no Fajita.
He was the only character worth watching imo.
At least the Bulimia chick with the blue hair will be in it.

This movie is indeed going to be awful.

And it's all because they're getting the fighting scenes ALL WRONG. The direction is all wrong and the effects are all wrong.

It's not that they don't have the capability, it's that they're just not thinking out of the box enough. They haven't watched enough DBZ.

They should have brought Akira Toriyama onboard for this at a HIGH LEVEL to retain the look and feel of Dragon Ball, but they didn't, and now they're going to fuck the whole thing up.

Here's a DBZ episode script

Vegeta looks up to Goku who is floating in the sky. Screen switches back and forth from a heavily breathing Goku and a clam Vegeta. The climax of this three minute stare off is when Vegeta smirks.

Vegeta:

Goku stares in disbelief for 10 minutes.
