Ive been running into a few problems with this adventure lol... fuck the auto pilot bushing! anyway i mounted the cluctch and everything and we slid the tranny on today which was also pretty crappy... but when we slid it on it didnt exactly go against the motor all the way theres like a little gap. and its a bitch to get the bolts in enough to thread especially when you dont have the exact right bolts because a friend lost them... ugh but anyway the question i guess is the tranny supposed to be flush with the motor before bolting on? how do i get it on evenly all the way around? and where can i get tranny bolts.... so i know for sure which one goes in which hole? damn i feel like an idiot but please help

good luck finding tranny bolts. if ur looking for the thread size and pitch so u can go 2 the local hardware store then a good guy named randy aka cronux helped me out with this info:

"(4) 60mm bolts
(1) 70mm bolt
(2) 35mm bolts
(1) 65mm bolt
(1) 25mm bolt
(2) 95mm bolts (starter bolts)

it may be difficult to find the exact size, as they generally carry them in increments of 10,so dont feel afraid to round up. oh, and tomake it easier to remove tranny next time, you dont have to usebolts on the top. some people i know have i think 3 on either side, and thats it. well, goodluck with your project"

I use the starter bolts to pull the trans all the way up to the bellhousing.

and then back them out and put them where they go.

exactly what neme said, you use the bolts to pull the bell housing into the motor. i used the longer ones where a shorter one would go to accomplish this. make sure you buy high grade hardware if you don't have the original bolts

eh its supposed to go in on its own, all though with a new Pilot bearing it might be a tight squeez. I would suggest pulling it back out, grease up the tranny input shaft, and sand the pilot bearing just a little, then try to slide it back in, Also make sure your clutch is aligned properly.

you can get those bolts on ebay, or from a dealership. pretty cheap for all the bellhousing bolts.

i did what NemeGuero did, used the starter bolts to pull the tranny together, used alot of washers :D then removed them once we got them in.

good luck buddy!

Just FYI, I did put lithium grease on the shafts before I slid it in.

I always lube my shafts.

k so i pretty much found out the problem... took us forever to realize it lol... you guys know how there is like a little stubby at the top of the bellhousing, it acts as like a guide. well i guess when we took my manual tranny off of the other motor that little guide broke off inside of it and thats why there was always a gap at the top and the tranny wouldnt go on right. so after hours of going wtf? we dropped the tranny and noticed it. then drilled it out and had everything else done in like an hour...... how annoying haha but thanks for your help you guys

those bolts and bolt sized you listed, are those all for the bell housing / starter? .. any of those used for the slave cylinder?
