If this is an old thread brought up from a dumbshitnoob then, I'll come to Cali to kick your ass. I'm too fucked right now to care to look. Mario 64 (the level where you raise the sunken ship) music has been playing for an hour just because I dont want to get up and turn it off.

The training? RUN. Jump. Get good at it. I used to attempt some of the cool shit.

And this shit. If it ever loads I'll put the link up... There we go...

I was going to do it, but the floors of my apartment are way loud and the ceilings are too damn low. I feel like I'm going to bash my head any minute. And I don't really want to go to the park and do this shit. A bunch of jumping and checking a sheet of paper to make sure I'm doing it all right while all the bitches and rich private school dicks stare. I don't have the self control not to chase 'em down.

ANYway, when I move back to the small town and have several acres to run and jump on, I'll probably try this workout. Adding that much to your vertical! I'll have to do something to stop my high school basketball playing brother from beating my ass at the round ball. I'll do backflip dunks and shit. Riiiight.

Pardon my nonsense.:jerkit:

Edit: It's not an old post, good. I didn't want to have to spend money on airfare.

EditEdit:
Oops. Here's the link to the one workout thing. If you can't see it, lmk and I'll find a way around it.

Actually Freerunning, is more like a combination of Both Parkour and Tricking, here's the tricking side. I was very interested at one point, but couldn't go through with it. how sad.

yeah, i know free running/parkour is old, but i saw some kids fucking around @ the galleria up here and it got me interested again, then i was on you tube et c. et c. and heres a cool link i think, http://www.supertricks.tk/ bunch of crazy brit bastards.

i think it was the 3run crew who has the video where they're just outrunning cops all over the place. the brasil video they've got is pretty cool too.

it seems they have too much experience in gymnastics and get bored with foam padding so they turn to rooftops and 30 foot drops...too crazy for my fat ass...

I love this kind of shit but have never gotten into it. This is the kind of stuff I need to watch to get inspired to start trying...

Used to do it a couple years ago along with breaking. They went hand in hand with each other to me. EXTREMELY demanding on the muscular, flexibility, and ninja-ism department.

I remember being younger and stupid one day, while being drunk. I was trying it out in a local neighborhood and I woke up someone in the house I jumped on and he threw something at me hahaha. Can't be effective as an inebriated ninja

Nope, that would be France. Dude is David Belle and he grew up climbing that thing.

Parkour is an actual instructed technique, which is more about effectiveness, going the most effecient route from one point to the next in the least time etc. Parkour teaches correct landing styles, for example, from high drops. Right down to the position of your toes in the landing is important.

Free running is about being stylish, showing off etc. Both are really cool shit for sure. Pretty much all the above vids are more free running oriented.

Doing either you have to be in good shape no doubt, but a lot of it (however Matrixish sounding it may be) is about conquering your own mind and fear. A lot of what you see in those videos is capable of being done by many everyday people (but yes, a lot is not as well). It's about getting over the fear of doing it. I've done some in the past, and I can illustrate perfectly. I took a couple mins to even begin to work up the courage to try leaping across a deep concrete ditch that was about 4-5m across. However, in long jump in high school track I sometimes approached the 7m mark. Easily capable of making the jump... There's just the mindset of "What if I fall into the ditch" and what happens if you do.
