i searched and came up with nothing, i am running an redtop sr20det and had the motor done. i went with cp pistons(.020 over) and eagle rods, my question is i hear like a knock kind of noise(doesnt sound like rod knock)but once car is fully warmed and driving it goes away. guys tell me its the slack or something like it with he pistons, do u guys kno about that or will i be encountering problems
also car doesnt smoke or burn oil

probably piston slap is what you are hearing.

Correct me if im wrong but. Couldnt it be that the oil is not thick enough on start up, which is allowing piston slap on start up. but as the motor warms the oil up the oil gets thicker and then it goes away due to the oil getting thicker. IF that is correct just go to a thicker oil.

so it is common, so will damage anything or just let it be

Oil get "Thinner" as it get hotter not "Thicker"
Try and locate the area where the knock is comming from
Ex. #4 cylinder area or Valve Cover

Could be a lot of things. Noisy lifters. Timing chain rattle.
Get a stethoscope and see if you can pinpoint the noise. Costs like $20 at Sears but you can probably get them for even cheaper.
Or take it to a mechanic. They should be able to tell what it might be. It's kind of hard to diagnose noises over the internet.
