I jus finished readin page one.. i know, got a ways to catch up since the thread was started 4/12.
How it started- i guess some dude buys a fd in japan, has it imported and has some guys "modify" it to be legal,.. then i guess the bill racked up alot and these guys try selling parts off the car etc, post parts for sale on craiglist etc.. and then claim they aint got the car or someshit.. Then the guys are arguing on the forum.
im still reading... but dam thats why i dont like dealin with people
this is the car in the beginning

this is supposibly the same car a few weeks later after those guys sell teh parts on the forums
trying to make the car look different

A lot of going back and forth.
I wonder who really is at fault.
Either way, sucks for the original buyer of the car

my understanding is the FD was in production from 91 to 01? something like that. a japanese friend of mine if i recall said that there are tons of them. So id like to think they are about the same market value as a S13 out here.

That sucks for the original owner. Nice looking car. I've always been a fan of the rotary family.

i actually met the owner of the car[he's a friend's friend] at my crew's bbq. i forgot his name though, but he seemed like a cool cat. but reading 20brotor and socalrotor go at it is pretty entertaining.

They came with the same motor here as there, so I'd imagine it's just a matter of putting all the US emissions equipment on, and getting it to pass a sniffer test.
They are definitely worth less in JDM-land. It's only here that they carry such enormous market value.

wow. they're being fucking assholes to that 20b guy. This MIGHT be an epic thread if those rx7 guys would stop popping off at starting fights with the 20b guy. They're being real fucking assholes and it's very obvious that this Gus and Gary guy stole his car without a business and never intended to legalize it. They received the car and started stripping it for sale. The owner CAN'T post on a forum because everything he posts could be detrimental to the case. Are those guys fucking retards?
Someone please post a link to here on there. PLEASE.

more like swapping VINs and not getting caught. kind of like "legal" s15's you see being sold here.

I always thought people do that. Just never heard of it before.
It would be epic if any of them had writing skills greater than a middle schooler.

Take them to court.
Then when the shop trying to defend it self, ask them for proof of being certified from the BAR, or whatever equivalent, the Judge will throw it out and return all to the owner, plus fee's etc.

to me it sounds like the guy who owns teh car is out of state or something, hence why they cant just go down to this shop and take teh car back.. He never said why he cant just go down there.

Yeah those douche bags don't have the right to sell shit until they get a judgment from the court. I don't see them flaunting a Mechanics Lien or anything. Hell I would love to see signed work orders.

Aww no epic conclusion yet.
Has potential though.
But this pretty much sums it up
This is actually pretty simple.
If someone owes a company for work done to a car, and doesn't pay, then the mechanics lien come to play and the original person looses the car.
If company sells or parts out a car, that is a customers without the mechanics lien, then the company owes the customer.
If you accuse a company or individual of ripping you off, you better be able to back it up through a real paper trail (including receipts), and there best not be a mechanics lien on the car, or the company or individual will take you to court and sue your ass.
Anything else here is nothing, and all made up BS.

The police are looking for the car. It is in the police database as stolen. If anyone in the bay area sees the car driving around can you report it. They will be arrested on the spot. Thanks for all the help guys..

I wouldn't say just RX7 owners, I'd say that's the internet in general. Half the time I read stuff on here I need to read it 4 or 5 times to understand what the damn person wrote.
The internet has destroyed proper writing skills.
