sears is having a sale on their 245pc tool set, it's only $159 with easy to read sockets.

killer deal as I got my 190pc easy to read socket set for close to $200 a while back. The easy to read sockets are a nice touch & help when you want to ID sockets quickly.

and you know craftsman has great hand tools!

go get it! in store pickup available! they ship out for $15 more I think
san diego shows stock for clairemont, mission valley & UTC

comes with a spiffy box too

DONT WAIT!
og price is $260!

BUY NOW! SALE ENDS ON THE 17TH!

just remembered, sale ends on the 17th!

but yeah, it includes sockets up to 21mm so if you've got something bigger than that then you probably need a specialty socket

otherwise this covers like 99% of the stuff you'd be doing to your car

nice find. craftsman isnt my brand though. i had some of the easy read socks, after a year and some oil/grease on them, they get really hard to read.

I think whatever is sold at HD is better, black with gold markings.

Sad thing is half the sockets are SAE, which are useless. But you could just as easily resale all of them on Ebay as a set and make back half the money you spent for the whole kit.

Anto
04-15-2008, 07:01 PM
yeah
most of the stuff I use are:

1/4" and 3/8" ratchets

sockets:
8mm for hose clamps
10mm
12mm
14mm
17mm
wrenches in the same sizes

1/4, 3/8 extension
linemans pliers
slip joint pliers
needle nose pliers
screwdriver
zip ties

that's pretty much it.
I'm gonna buy a handheld toolbox and carry all that stuff on me more often & have the box at home for the stuff I need because the entire box is pretty heavy.

Wow good find. The only thing I don't like is they put 45 allen wrenches in there, wtf is up with that I almost never use allen wrenches.

i had a set like that one, but bigger (4 drawer box). the selection was great, but the box sucked. i ended up losing half the sockets because if i tried to take it to the j/y or something all the drawers would fly out and tools would be everywhere.

oh yea, and while you guys are at sears, get a metric ratcheting wrench set. best investment ive ever made!

this is true, I heard their boxes suck, so to whoever gets a set you might want to buy a smaller, lighter handheld box & put all of your most used tools in there.

I thought this was a post for "all used sluts with janky asses", when I saw the title, and figured it was in the F/S forum.

Damn. I already have tools. Guess what I'm short on?

That's right, used sluts.

I've never had a problem replaing any craftsman tool, no questiosn asked, no hesitation from sales clerk (its rare if one goes bad). I started with a 155pc that I bought during their Holiday Sale. Its paid for itself many times over. They put their stuff on sale for Father's day too.

It's funny how everyone is complaing about how shitty the boxes are. You aren't going to even use half of the tools in those big kits. So, buy a little tool bag tote, and slap in the tools you always use. Craftsman always has the big mouth tool bags half off. Done.

I once bought the same craftsman tool set at sears.

When I brought it home, and opened it up. There was a bunch of misallanious tools in there, like someone fucking replaced it with their own pos tools. I was heated. Went back and talked to the manager. I then got the next bigger size up tool box for replacement:D gooo craftsman!

This thread make's me very happy to hear all the positive feedback about my company's tools. We have great deals all the time and clearance tools are all ways going hella cheap. Being a manager I get all the stupid cheap deals like a limited edition three peice ratchet set for 24.99 or fender cover for 3.99. Usually the tools associates will tell you about the deals on clearance if you just ask. The lifetime warranty is where its at though, go Crafstman:bowdown:

craftsman is tits, end of story. quality might not quite be Snap-On, but you don't have to find the fucking guy in a truck to get a replacement. you just go to Sears, pick up what you need off the shelf, and toss the broken one at the counter guy. he waves and you're off. so awesome.
i've actually started buying craftsman professional hand tools instead of the normal line, because.. why not have the best, you're only going to buy it once.

plus the full polish wrenches are easier to wipe down than the regular alloy ones

i've read reviews on the box for that toolset. its not good at all. the drawers are too ez to slide out and is terrible for carrying around.
i was about to buy that box alone for 30 bucks but after reading the many reviews about the drawers falling out, i decided not to.

i just bought the 127 piece or something like that

but the tools are really good, very easy to read, good strong tools
+1 for craftsman
