I have been shopping for a used 240sx (89-93) for sometime now. I drive a G35 but want something better on gas and a fun little 5 speed, my G is auto. Anyway, I found a 1992 SE (no sun roof) 84K original owner in great shape, looks almost new. Price is $6500. Seems kind f high I know but I cant find any other 240s in this excellent shape. What do you guys think...way too much???

just keep looking on autotrader and CL good deals always come around but 6k for a stock 240 is crazy expensive considering here for 6k u can get 1 with an SR coils and some bolt ons. But if you like it and it runs and you have the cash go for it

Keep in mind your G will get better MPG than a 240 hands down. I don't own a G but I own a maxima (VQ35) and even though it the biggest car in the garage its the best MPG. I'd keep shopping for the 240s though esp if your planning an engine swap eng mileage goes out the window.

Really, 240 MPG is bad? I assumed it would be better since its a 4 and pretty small....hmmmmmm maybe I should not buy the 240 at all??? How many MPG does the average 240sx get?

for MPG information http://www.fueleconomy.gov/FEG/bymake/bymanuNF.shtml
might not be accurate because cars burn more as they get older, but it will let you compare other cars so you can get an idea
hope it helps

6.5k for a 240sx? bullshit! way too much, go find one with a couple of dents for cheaper, then bring it to the shop so they can work on it and paint. : )

keep shopping around, 6.5 is too damn high. pick up a shell for $500, sr20 for 3k, coilovers for 1k, Emanage/tune for 1k, maaco paint job $500. there 6.5k right there.

keep looking 6.5 is a rip off. you can get a nice s13 modded and all for that price. but as for mpg i get about 24mpg with my 95ka24de

Check craigslist or roll up on some ole lady in the parking lot and give her an offer she can't refuse.:naughty: Personally I'd just get an MT G and roll in that G&M's will be the next fad anyway.(cash cow) I've been considering trading my 02 6MT max for a 6MT G sedan just for the RWD.

You guys have to realise he doesn't want a modified 240. He wants a stock "mint" 240 with LOW MILES.

You're asking for the impossible. The newest car you'll find will still be 15 years old. That's 15 years of aging, deterioration, sunfading, etc. Nothing is mint unless it's been garaged it's whole life and gently driven, it won't be because it's a 'sporty' economy car, not a classic or antique. Next you have to take into account that every 16-21yr old kid is going to beat you to anything remotely decent so they can wrap it around a tree next week trying to drift.

Settle for the average and be happy, but I'd drive the G and forget about any 240. A 15yr old 240SX is not going to be economical because it's going to need far more maintenance and upkeep.

Yea keep the G and dont worry about the s13. Be happy with your ice cold AC you asshole.

Maybe this is one of those slap in the faces to us zilvians!

You can find a stock 95-96 for that price should be around 3k or so. You won't find a mint low mileage 15 year old car unless you get lucky and find someone like my grandmom who drives 2 miles round trip to work everyday and has grandsons that keep her car clean lol

Nice 240's are take some patience to come across. I wouldn't expect to find anything overnight.

If it is as nice as you are saying it might be worth it.

I bought a somewhat clean s14 base model for $3300. I knew it needed work but as I dove into the project and got it to a clean slightly modified state I realized how much money I put into the car replacing all the stuff that was busted, old, or sucked. I put about $2k+ into it (did all the work myself). If I had it to do over again I would have just paid $6k for a clean one that needed very little work.

I hope it works out for you.

i believe i know the car you are talking about.. there has been a lot of skepticism about it because those same pictures on the listing where used in a scam a few weeks ago..

be careful, you could buy 2 nice s14s for that price..
