Hey,

My car was just stolen from in front of my house last night in Alameda. I wanted to put the word out and see if you guys could keep an eye out if any of you are in the area. The car has a Drift Day Norcal and Zilvia.net sticker on the driver side. Here a few pics of it:

FWIW: Every day I see a gunmetal sil80 that looks like yours in Oakland- the difference is that the one that I see has vented fenders. People should check the fenders before calling in what they think is your car- I thought that the two cars were the same one when I saw this thread.

I had a brake lock, alarm, and my wheel is still in the house. It's most likely some pros that hit the area. Mine was the second import stolen on the same night that I heard of from the police. The other was a block up from me. Keep an eye on your cars. I hate hearing about this stuff and now it's happened to me. There is another car similar to mine that luftrofl mentioned and has vented fenders. Mine has some blue tape on the front bumper passanger side and the stuff I mentioned earlier. Most likely its being stripped as I type this.

Yeah, some of my coworkers said the same thing as for checking out the shops that I have been to. I did end up taking it to BlackTrax (from the shops I was looking for) and Aki is legit. That doesn't rule out all of the other places that have my home address and have seen the car though, so it is a possibility. I'd have to go way back though since I don't know how long they've been casing my house. The thing that really gets me is that I had the wheel off and there aren't any markings on the hub. Unless of course someone ID'd it from the sale awhile back. Anyway, thanks again everyone. It really helps to read the support. I can only hope now that I can even get a shell back if even that.

I park it out on the street in front of the house because my driveway angles up too sharp and I would end of scraping the crap out of front and exhaust trying to get it in. If I get it back its going in the driveway after I do some construction and possibly a driveway blockade security solution.

A police report has been filed that morning and the word is out in force. I know my neighbors and have talked to them already with no leads. Local shops and people who are heavily involved in the scene have been notified of the car including the parts that would most likely be stripped for sale. Of course we all know the likelyhood of anything turning up is slim, but it's all I have. Again, thanks again to everyone keeping an eye out. It's helping me a great deal thinking I have that much more of a chance of someone seeing something. I'll keep everyone posted if there's any news.

its easy to move cars in and out of tight spaces with one person and floor jack.

if you park outside the only solution is a boot on the front and rear.

A sting operation wouldn't really work I don't think. Stings usually only work if you have a specific/small area to work with. These guys seem to be hitting all over the north/east bay.

I think people should keep it on the low as to what security they do have, that only makes it easier. Not pointing fingers, just putting in my $0.2. :P

Stings are fun though, especially if/when you catch the bastards. There is nothing more satisfying than beating the piss out of some thief.

if the car is suspected of having lo jack the thieves will most likely park it somewhere, maybe cover it with a car cover, and wait for several days to see if lo jack kicks in.

if the car is recovered, good for you, thieves will target someone else or do it again but strip it super fast for the essentials.

if you really want to lessen your chances. stop showing off. dont bring your car to car shows or meets and dont plaster your car over the internet.

the more you know the better you can combat theft and the less surprised you'll be.

this really makes me sad. such a nice car. idk whats up with people these days, its so messed up how others can just go steal someones prized posessions. It really makes me nervous for my car, and I'm sure others feel the same as I do. It really shouldn't be like that. I'll definately have my eyes open out here in 626.

sorry about your car man...me and KingSol and a couple really close friends put alot of work, heart, soul, sweat, and blood making that car the way it is. it just sucks that the car's clean history has to end like this
