AT TPS to MT TPS?

i have a 6 pin AT tps sensor, i cannot set it properly and im looking for a new one. i was wondering if anyone had swapped the 6 pin tps out for a 5 speed tps sensor and how they went about doing it. any help would be great. thanks. this is for a red top sr20

well the AT TPS has two plugs on it. a black and a brown. you can put in the MT TPS and one of the plugs actually plugs right in, leaving the other plug hanging.

i dont think i follow. the AT tps sensor has a bigger harness then the MT tps harness. is there any way i can buy a MT sensor and re wire it using the AT harness?

So you have a auto TPS and auto harness? What is the problem then? Theres actually only 3 wires that need to be used for the TPS. (Black, White and Green w/ red stripe). Assuming you have a manual ECU (#62).

search on google for sr20det ecu pinout and find the tps signal wire from the ecu for the tps and thats where you tap it at. You probably tapped the wrong wire or something

i didnt tap a wrong wire, my tps sensor isnt working well and im wanting to know how i can use a 5 speed tps properly

so you have a auto ecu with auto harness and auto tranny sr20det?

why use a MT TPS then? source a AT TPS.

check the pins at the ecu harness if you're not getting a signal.

you can use a meter to check to see if your tps is working.
