Hey guys,
I'm trying to get a good quote on having a Datsun 280z transported from Cleveland TN. to Jacksonville FL. The car is non-running but is a rolling chasis. Anybody know someone willing to do it for around 300? Thanks in advance!

Good luck finding one for under $1,000 from a reputable hauler with insurance.

In December I had a company transport a 510, rolling chasis from Tuscaloosa AL to Jax for 350.....

whatever they quote you they will probably charge you another $50-$100 on top of it because it is non-opperable and they have to use a wench.
Try getting quotes online and also try uship.com, it cuts out the middle man

A wench is a Pirate's woman.

A winch utilizes a motor to pull a braided steel line.

This should probably be in the regional forums.

^ site seems pretty legit. $575 ($375 if it were running) fully insured was the quote that I came up with with the cities you provided.

Yes, I understand you can get a quote online, I've been through this before. I always have this problem with this forum, no one answers my question. WHO DO YOU KNOW that can get me a good deal. If you don't know someone who owns a car transport truck, who frequently travels up north and then back to FL, don't comment. No kidding it has to be winched on the truck what're you going to do push it up the ramp. >.<

Maybe no one answers your questions because you seem like a giant prick.

Post in the Florida board.

Basically shipping companies bid, against each other to ship your goods...you set begging bid/or what set price you are looking for...and someone picks it up...once got a bidder for what, 400 dollars from rapid city-b'ham, al to ship my crappy car....

borrow a truck
drive to a uhaul in tennessee
rent a trailer
return trailer at a uhaul in florida
done

seriously, that isn't a very big drive. it's 8 hours each way. you could get a trailer from uhaul, one way, for under a hundred bucks.

+1 for uship.com you post what you need shipped and people bid on it. You choose who you want. Shippers have feedback also so you can see how they've done buisness.

If I had a truck, I would. But I don't, and gas is at almost 3.50 a gallon right now. Lets do the math, 600 miles x2 is 1200. At 20 mpg at best that comes out to 60 gallons x3.50 which makes 210 + 100 for a trailor- 310$ And then I have to get food, cause I'm a fatass so another hundred. haha So for the same price I can get a shipping company to do it for me.
