Just Moved to San Diego 619

So I just moved out to San Diego. Chula Vista to be exact. I sold my 240 in Virginia before i left. I still have many of the parts i wanted to keep to build another 240. Hopefully ill be picking up an s13 here in the next couple months. I dont want to buy just any s13.
Im really picky.
I dont know anyone out here at all, and have minimal access to my brother's mother-in-laws car.
Anything cool going on out here?

Welcome to San Diego. We got some killer canyon/mountain roads out here. I'm in Lakeside, which is pretty much hickville, but it's all good as everything's cheap as hell and we don't have quite the traffic of the 15 and 805.

Ok so I found a 91 se coupe. Its got 190,ooo on the ticker. doesnt leak oil. Kid changed the radiator, high pressure power steering line, thermostat and battery.
interior is 6 out of 10 exterior is 6 out of ten. no body damage, little dents only, but paint completley sucks (typical).
Hes asking $2000, but agreed to $1800, might ask for $1700.
seems like a good deal, what do you guys think?

Its manual, it runs pretty damn good. I test drove it twice today. The second time i test drove it i bought it. ha.
What a fucking impulse buy. I never do that, but i think i had been feeling desperation for too long. Finding a stock 240 in a decent price range around here is ridiculous. Ill take some before and after pictures tomorrow. I plan on shampooing the carpets and seats and cleaning out the interior/exterior and engine bay.
overall, im happy as of now... we'll see if it holds up.

Might be a little too late but the mechanic at autotech on third avenue in chula vista is selling a decent condition ka single cam for 500 bucks. It might be cheaper to just buy that. It includes tranny and harness. Tell him Jay sent you he might show you some of the other stuff he has. I think he wanted people to show up on Saturdays tho.
