well when we get on il it does not pull at all it's very slow that a stock ka beat us.
i dont know if timing plays a part in this. we put it on oem timing setting's which we felt a small difference not much. so we advanced it then it was pulling hard but running rich. help!!!!!!!!

what's the set up you have?
and how's the boost? does it seem like boost leak? how's your during that rpm range?

its a basic set up. fmic, bov of course stock boost 3in down pipe with cat n 2.5catback. no boost leak at all. n wat do u mean by "how's your during that rpm range? do mean boost?

buy maf cleaner and try that, also buy a boost controller and turn the boost up to 10 lbs, stock boost is worthless, when i was still running it i got beat by a stock integra gsr not fun. in all honesty the fact that you were messing with timing kinda throws the whole situation off, if you are stock with bolt ons there should be no reason for you to touch timing.

Yo, i had the same problem. Did you change fuel pumps? My problem was my fuel pump from the stock KA wasnt enough to get my SR going! Might wanna check that as well. Good Luck!

check ur fuel pressure, are u running the stock fuel pump? that might be the issue if there are no air leaks... to test for air leaks pinch the blow-by hose on the front of the rocker cover... if the rpms rise you have an air leak... refer to the s14 sr20det FSM for more information (page 238 or "EC-101")

yeah it has a new walb fuel pump
n will check the fuel pressure 2morrow
thanks again ^!!!!!!!!!!!!!

turbo lag?
Lemme guess, 7lbs of boost. Big ass fmic. Stock t25?

If its the t25, a big ass fmic would keep you from hitting full boost till around five grand. Depending upon which t28 you have (bb?) it may be a different issue. If its an s13 motor with the stock turbo, its turbo lag. ways to get rid of this = mbc, smic, smaller piping on the exhaust. Basically, the stock t25 is not a super strong turbo. It has to work its ass off to build boost. Less volume to fill in route = less lag before the boost reaches your engine. For highway runs, big FMIC are great, response wise not so much (t25 wise)

wat kinda wastegate are you running? internal? aftermarket?

also a silly question but when u say there is no boost leak, i am assuming u already did a full pressure test from before turbo all the way to the throttle body.

are you running a boost gauge?

lol not true. 5grand? when i was stock with a big front mount i was still making 10psi almost instantly.

mbc
keeps the wastgate from opening = less lag
One of the things I stated to help get rid of lag

what the hell does boost level have to do with initial lag? 7.5psi will be attained at the same rpm regardless, it may take another couple hundred rpm to make full boost if youre running anything over stock.
and sure a big ic will be detrimental but 5grand is a pretty dramatic exageration.
