Q45 brake capiler....

just install my brakes. drove it around a couple blocks. brake kind of soft. so bought it back home and check....found out that its leaking. looks like its coming from the pistons. where can i get a rebuild kit for my brake capiler? they're from a 92 infiniti.

the brake pedal will be softer anyways due to the fact that you're pushing 2 more pistons on the q45 calipers instead of the the normal 1 piston per calipers. more fluid is being displaced for the same given pedal movement. i would also advise about getting a bigger bmc. probably a bm44 would do. as for the rebuild kit. i believe they do have them. thought I saw some online..could be wrong but look around on google. should be reuildable.

okay just call autozone around my area. they said they dont carry rebuild kits for it! WTF? i did see it online on there site. pepboys dont have them either....

they probably don't have it in stock. Just call them with the part number and they'll get it, and you save shipping. I rebuilt my Q calipers a few months ago using all parts from autozone. Not only did i hafta replace the seals, but one of the sliding pin/bolt thingys was seized into the "torque member" and i had to drill it out, replace the sleeve, and all that shit. It ended up being a big pain in the ass.

Rebuild should have been a given. It is always necessary on these just for peace of mind. I got mine through autozone. Make sure you order the sliding pin rebuild kits too.

rubber boot thing on the torque member (the other metal component besides the caliper) with which the pins on the caliper slide into. Replace those and lube everything up with brake grease

stainless lines are more necessary then a bmc. with the q45 upgrade a bmc is not needed.

i do have stainless lines for my car right now. it seem hard to install the rear. kind of hard to get in when car is still low to the ground. :S

yea theres almost always setbacks with junkyard brakes lol

i got my Q45 brake set from a yard, put them on. finally went to bleed them and of the Effing bleeders snapped off LOL

so now im running 2 passenger side calipers. i have to take off the driver side and flip it upside down with a piece of wood in it if i want to bleed lol

I run my Q45s with stock BMC... pedal is rock solid. So solid in fact that when I've let other people drive my car they are like wtf why are your brakes so tight. :keke:

you just need a flare wrench.... 10 mm I think (maybe 11? I forget) Don't use a normal wrench... it won't budge and you'll strip it...
