question re. camshaft angle sensor

here's the story last 3 weeks i went to my usual hangout after staying for 30mins started my car and it only crank but won't go on ,i tried to crank around 20 times still won't go on , then had it towed to a friends shop they replace the fuel pump still won't start ,check and replace ignition coil and power transistor still won't go on , replace camshaft angle sensor still won't start and finally change the comp. box and it did start so my box was the culprit .
now the problem is when i start the car there's this tak tak sound which i know is the vtc cam gear which i don't have before ,
my question is it possible they installed my camshaft angle sensor wrongly so that cause the sound, my timing is ok but the vtc sound won't go away .
