Just came across this in the most recent GRM http://www.intellistick.com/menutemp/ apparently alot of you take interest in your oil as to all the threads that have been popping up lately about oil so there you go fellas

IMO, inventions like that make the modern day man lazy and more stupid. Yes you can monitor multiple conditions of what's going on and the end of your dipstick, and look "cool" doing it, but then that will in-turn breed more people that ask questions like "How can I tell if there's water in my Oil?" or "How can I tell if my oil level is good on a stock dipstick?"

Inventions like this might make you look cool, but at cost of unteased brain cells

"Only PDA’s equipped with Bluetooth and Windows 5.0 can communicate currently with the IntelliStick. As most software updates periodically, check the IntelliStick website for compatibility with future Windows and Bluetooth releases."
"To determine oil level, the IntelliStick must be measured with the existing dipstick (see the installation guide). Draw a line with a permanent marker to indicate the “ADD” and “FULL” measurement marks corresponding to the original dipstick “ADD” and “FULL” marks."

So I need a PDA and I still need to remove it to check oil level...

hah we'll i wasn't really talking about the oil level function as much as the oil analysis bit they speak of, not saying that its practical for the daily use of joe shmoe but for those that need further information from their engines its a pretty nifty gizmo

so basicaclly all it tells you is when your oil is starting to break down and that it is time for a change.

all for the low low price of $$$$
