View Full Version : Speedtrial - Group C

11-12-2002, 12:11 PM
let me give you a brief history on how the speedtrial group C started. it all started about 3-4 years ago when a bunch of guys from club4ag started driving speedtrials. they created the group C. why C? C for Car Control. speedtrials doesn't want to use the word "drifting" that's why they abolished the speedtrial driftin`. US is not ready for that kind of sport yet.
tommy and moto always have the group C exclusive for club4ag most of the time.
but as drifting grows here in the states, variation of cars started to come out and learn how to drift. so now, club4ag is opening group C and extending it to other car clubs/owners that is interested in drifting. we also hold regular drift schools/training for those who are interested. the next drift school is late january. i will keep you guys posted in this board. i don't post here often but i check my email regularly.
if you have any questions feel free to email me. ([email protected])

now, club4ag is filliing up group C (drift group) for dec 7 - streets of willow if any of you are interested to run with us please email me so i can add ur name to the list. register thru speedtrial website and put
"car control grp c - club4ag" and email me that you have registered. this way i can keep track of how many cars we have in our group. we want to keep our group away from grippers/road racers so they won't be in our asses when we drift. next year is the start of serious drifting school, get all the practice while u still can. we're gonna have japanese drivers from D1 and JTCC teaching those who are eager to learn. we are gonna learn new techinics and break new grounds just like how it should be. our japanese counter parts wants to train us and maybe then we can develop what they teach us and give them some competition, if we are good enough then.
we are working on something big for next year.... it's not the same as what you think it is. not option d1... something different. not better... just different. hope to see you guys at the tracks on dec 7.

hey i hope to see some of the people who posted on the "So Cal Meet/ Track (http://www.zilvia.net/f/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=3;t=18494)" thread to show up!!

im there heh...can't wait can't wait.

see you all there!

(you dont need a built suspension to learn and have fun. you dont need an SR20det to drift. you just need to sign up and get out there. i got a totally stock KA and that's more then enough for my lack of skill. i had the greatest time out there on the buttonwillow track, really looking forward to learn on willow springs, last time was grip, this time drift.)

thanks for setting this all up driftheaven!

I was at Buttonwillow, with the red S14. Which car did you drive?

I'm probably gonna have to pass on the December 7 Group C, but am definitely looking forward to future events!

Well I signed up for the Drift Group but I let my friend with the black S14 take my place. I spent most of my time at the skidpad area. Wasn't really paying attention to the track. :P

Ahh I think I remember. I was parked next to the Lexus and the white S14s.

And I think I got one of the burgundy S13s in this video clip (http://www.norcal240sx.org/events/20021102/videos/20021102b.mpg). :P Dunno which of you it belongs to. (It'll be re-edited with better footage later.)

I can't afford to drive, but I'm going to try to make it to Willow Springs to watch at least. I am really looking foreward to having a chance to drive on a track for the first time, but that won't come until the 28th. I hope I'll see lots of you at both events.

Is there any more info on the drift "school" that you guys will be having in January? In particular, DATES (and location)?
Please have it (or rather, I'm hoping it will be) after Jan. 10 -- I won't be in town until then!
Otherwise, I look forward to running with you, tommy and others on the 7th!

11-13-2002, 09:58 AM
to those who are new to the tracks or trying drifting the first time. take it easy out there, all of this doesn't come overnight or in 1 session. take advantage of the skidpad. that's where you will learn the basic. if we keep on spinning out and putting other cars in danger we will either be reminded or worse thing is... ask us not to drift anymore or even kick us out of the tracks if we are unsafe. now, you don't want that to happen. but it happened to us before, it's not speedtrials fault. it's our fault that we can't control our cars. the track owner and the corner workers get nervous if we're going through the corners sideways. but once you're good at it they even give you the thumbs up.
so be conservative in learning and driving in the tracks, pick an easy turn and learn there first. familiarize the tracks... entry speed and exit speed. the concept of going balls out in the tracks will all change after you see a couple of cars flip'd because of drifting. my advice is stay safe, learn the limits of ur car but don't exceed the limits and most of all have fun.

about the drift school, it will be around end of january.
as soon as we open for registration i will make sure to post here. i suggest if you are interested, you should jump on the opportunity because it gets full right away.

so far only aaron and adey signed up. anyone else?

What if i bring some race queens from Suzuka Circuit? Going to Matsusaka in April for my friends wedding. He says he has a friend who is a race queen there. Does that get me anything? I may actually bring my Z out for the drift school if its fully broken in and tuned. Or maybe I'll get lucky and pick up an S13 by then.
