I am still trying to DL the video(slow internet). You have to click on the link and then select the Phantom vid(you see a black car with cage on a dyno in the pic above it)

They maxxed out the dyno on that run. Yes, that is the KA-T record, the car is also the fastest S-Chassis in the US that I know of.

I don't understand when fuckers do their dynos in 3rd gear (which is a torque multiplyer) and then display it over road speed (which is almost irrelevent on the dynojet)

In fact to get a proper real Wheel output you should do it over RPM.

There are several over 1000 hp

Mazworx is the only one in the US over 1000 hp iirc

There is one from Sweden and one in Australia , and I'm pretty sure a couple In Japan.

Did I really just watch this??? Anyone else notice where the kid is standing when the guy launches??? If he throws anything off his tires he may have picked up like a small stone that kid is in a world of hurt. I cant believe the level of stupidity and disregard for track safety in this vid. I mean building a reliable, sub 600whp, semi-streetable, engine holds far more weight in my eyes than a 1000whp engine that gets torn down and rebuilt everytime it's used.

From what I remember they rebuilt the motor very rarely like its been over a year...


edit: Remember, the car was pretty much towed everywhere and probably makes 25-30 passes per year.(This is just my guessing)

im not sure if this is their case, but alot of times with high HP cars like that, its hard to get a friendly RPM signal without interference...so hence measured wheel HP vs MPH graphs.

well if your goal is to drive it on the street then a 600 hp beast is obviously the best choice...actually about a 350 to 400whp car is ideal for the street.
with that in mind...they were not planning to drive it on the street...and the obsession with 1000 hp is it showcases a shops ability to build quality motors and there superior ability to tune the chasis that is chosen. most people on this site are into drifting or autocross so 1000hp seems stupid, but for the style of racing 1000hp for that car is perfect...

take a look at AMS they built TA autocross and drag 240s sick company too
