PBM are notched.. like sorta bent.
that's how it helps, anyways.
maybe dremel away a small portion of there?
The MAX ones have like a curved shape to them... to avoid this sort of problem I believe.
Check the advertisers specials section for that big max thread. I believe it shows them there.
EDIT: Too slow.

I'll save you some trouble.
Just give me your S14 and call it a day.
Problem solved.
:D
I'd just cut or bend the part it's hitting out of the way :)

I didn't think of this, but I am glad you did, finally a really good idea, other than beating the shit out of the chassis
Goldeneye9mm
04-08-2008, 10:49 PM
well you're gonna have to re-align it of course, and it's only gonna give you a lil more room, but i put all those adjustables on mine too an i was thinking that when i did it so i wouldn't have to worry later. mine of course isn't that low so it's not a problem yet. good luck

Yeah...I hear ya....sometimes I wonder if it would be smart or dumb to weld the ecentric bolt/washer in place onto the chassis.
On one hand, it would make taking the arm off a bitch....on the other hand, your alignment would be pretty much unchangeable, unless you fuck up the chassis or spindle
Marcus
04-08-2008, 10:53 PM
yea.. but even still if i do that with the alignment bolt, i still have the problem with suspension travel. it'll still hit if i hit a bump,or angle up a driveway. so i think imma get the JDM tool and flatten it.

i think smashing the pinch weld up and getting the PBM arms so you can go even lower would be ideal.

Like the others have said, just cut and weld or hammer it out of the way.
But from the pics it looks like you have them on the wrong sides :P
Try switching them up and see how they look from there.

that someone was me... and it was because you left me a negative rep about that douchebag selling enkei mesh wheels... if you don't want smacked in the pee pee... don't leave someone with A LOT more rep than you a negative son, that was only one of my negatives.
your car looks great by the way, seems like you have better taste than to take up for some flaming douche like that guy was.

04-13-2008, 10:10 AM
yea thanks for the rep tip.
i bent the shit out of it and it clears now.
i actually did put them on the right way. even look at the max arms. they're mounted the same as mine. even the same pic angle on the same side. its the us drivers side rear tire, taken from where the exhaust hangs. if i put them on the wrong side, then they wont even clear the coils. they wont go anyother way. even if i put them on the other side, there isnt enough of a bend to clear the coils.
nah. the sideskirts are not molded. the pic is just bad. it also looks like my rims have flat spots. i dont know why.

Car is so low I seriously doubt the dampers are moving. Cars designed to be that low, i.e F1 cars. JGTC cars, HKS Tsukuba Super Lap cars have the damper towers and suspension designed so they can be that low and still get full movement of the dampers where as the OP's factory mounts and wheel hubs higher than the upper arms are limiting the dampers to very little to no movement whatsoever...
Marcus
04-15-2008, 10:16 AM
aaahhhh....i get it. yea i understand for those cars the geometry of the suspension is completely changed. its probably decreasing the overall performance of the suspension with the hub higher than the rucas. but it looks badass.

So... You wanted more suspension travel or to "look badass" ??
Finding a happy medium is always the best route but you sound like your on opposing ends of the spectrum.... pick a side and lean that way. You shouldnt want something, but complain about its adverse effects, when you know that you have to give and take to get the "look" you want. If you want a slammed look, deal with the susp bottoming out, if you want a smooth/Daily ride, then give up the slammed look.
Marcus
04-15-2008, 10:46 AM
umm. im not complaining. my suspension isnt bottoming out. the coils still allow for max travel. i just maxed out the ride height adjustment (in the rear, front still has a lot to go). it still handles awesome, especially because of the low cog. i deal with scraping and driving an extra 10 mins to go around shitty roads. its alright. and hell no its staying slammed ;). in fact im getting 17s for the front to go lower. but thanks for the suggestion.
and what's up with people saying my camber arms are on the wrong side. i even took them off when i flattened the seem to see if they would even fit any other way. am i retarded?! or am i not wrong. ? anyway, i couldnt get them to fit any other way.

Holy shit dawg... The rucas you have on your rear driver side belongs on the pas side. Its not a matter or twisting or w/e, just wrong side. Thats why its angled upwards. It will fit the exact same way on pas side, just angled downward. Thats why your hittin the the under body. Take a look.

for the 11tybillionth time they're on the wrong sides.
either that or the manufacturer could have sent him two passenger side RUCAs so he has the correct one on the passenger but the wrong one completely on the driver... it's a thought.

actually, your arms are angled. mine are not. they are straight. your left and rights are different. mine are not. I FOUND A LABEL. one says "L" and the other "R". and it doesnt matter. theyre not on the wrong side, both camber arms are identical. mine are both flat. there is no angle on them. it directly connects the upright with the subframe. (STRAIGHT) they wont fit any other way. plus its not an issue anymore.
if you read it like 5 days ago, i said i already fixed it.
for the 11billionth time i fixed it.
BTW, both pics i posted were from the drivers side.
thanks for the help though.
