ive searched didnt find answers to my questions but if anyone knows the thread that does please post...

So I have a opportunity to buy some decent looking HKS 264 degree stage 1 camshafts and cam gears…
-Is lift something I should be concerned bout? The exhaust is 10mm and intake is 10.5.
-Is there anything else I need to make these work in my set up?
-Any guess as to how much gain in HP with my set up?

255 fuel pump
550cc
Greddy front mount
Megan turbo mani
3” out
GT2871R
Rom tune
Z32 maf

Sorry im new to the world of internals.

Nope.

Step 1 HKS cams are drop in lift.

They will not effect spring bind on stock valve springs.

Just bolt them in then get your standalone tuned.

They work just fine with stock springs, just don't go beyond the stock rev limiter.

Give a pretty nice mild lope to the idle as well. [/ricer mode]

+1^^ for the rocker arm stopper. You never know if you miss shift and rev the little 4 banger pass the rev limiter, I don't want to even think about it! They're dirt cheap you can pick one up for around $80.

If your going to do some head work and if your engine is not installed, why not upgrade to HKS Step 2 256/264 or 264/264 (more room for future tubro upgrdes etc..), HKS valve springs, also good idea to change the valve seals (you have no idea how many km are on that motor), maybe even slap on a thicker metal head gasket for high/safe boost applications. Cam gears are useless buts that my opinion. Work around your budget :)

lift is a concern when it comes to buying cams... but not with the step 1 hks... as stated earlier..

BC recommends replacing the springs/retainers when using the step 2 cams, just because of some spring bind issues.
