Ok here you go. I read this article in nicoclub. I was wondering if taking out the two guides for the upper chain will cause any problems in the future. Heres the article how to get rid of the knocking sound. Ty for your time.

It won't do anything bad in the future.
Do it, like it's a 17yr old girl.

Won't do anything bad, in fact most new timing chain kits don't come with them.

Yeah, i actually tried to replace mine, and Nissan would not sell me the part. They stated it was a discard part. So rip it off! :)

And if you search more on that site, you can see the effects of ignoring that marble-in-a-can noise. In some cases, the brackets broke off and ended up getting stuck in the chain sprocket or slipping the chain off a sprocket.
Either way, no bueno. It's a must do. Besides, chicks don't dig cars that sound bad.

My suggestion is to also spray some WD40 on the tensioners and push on them until they start moving freely. They're most likely gunked up with oil and stuck, that's usually the reason why the chain starts hitting the guides.
