10k for a s2k with a salvaged title is a bit much. Although it looks pretty clean, I would lower the price a bit. My buddy just sold his s2k with under 50k miles for that price with a clean title with hardtop. It just sounds like it's a bit much to me.

Yeah 10k is high for a 100+k salvaged title s2k. If it was lowered a little it would sell quick, its a nice car really nice. the miles and the title is killing it. from the out side it looks like its never been wrecked.

It only has 77k on it. Is it a salvage title or a rebuilt title because there is a difference. I always thought a salvage cannot be driven on the road where a rebuilt has passed all inspections and is rendered safe to be driven. however it can get a salvage title due to theft or wreck or flood.

It has a savage title because of a frontal collition but the only thing that was replaced was the front bumper, all of the fenders and headlights are original all vin numbers are in the panels from fender to the rest of the car. You guys are more than welcome to come and take a look at it, about the price, ppl are selling this cars with clean title anywhere between 14-17k depending on the condition and miles, 77k is consider low miles for a 2000 vehicle,

No matter who you talk to or know someones friend or someones brother found a car like this or like that for cheaper or whatever. This is his car for a decent price imo, good luck with your sale. You will sell it sooner or later

I have been told by, automotive school teachers, Auto body shop owner, and a few friends that it's illegal to sell a salvaged car in CA for more than $9999.99. I'm having trouble finding info on it. Might check with the DMV on this even though everyone report to the DMV that the sold/bought the car for $100.

I could be wrong but to my understanding you cant register a salvage title. Also NO Way was just the front bumper hit. My dad owns a shop and i talk to the insurance guys all the time they would never do that. for just a bumper. Something is up with the story.

Is it just me or is your hood's doesn't match the rest of the car. It is a nice silvertone metallica AP1..

In CA you need to take it to a shop and do a lamp and safety check. They check all the lights, do a brake inspection and take the car for a test drive, to check the braking again. After the check you take it to the DMV and they do a check. Not sure what the looked for but she asked about airbags and that was it. Also I think a smog check is also needed. If all of this was taken care of before hand, it is like selling any other used car.

Seller, were these checks done?

Car has already been smog, a break and lamp inspection can be done if some1 is serious about it, I will have it done before we sign the papers, and

I highly doubt that. What about Lexus or Benzs or Porsches or BMWs that have been crashed and are worth more than 70k? Just making a point, but you can be right, but not likely!

You can register a salvaged car, the salvaged tittle just means the car was previously in a wreck/theft recovery or what not. It will be printed on the pinkslip so the next owner will know. Basically it means that the car was previously damaged/stolen over ~60-70% value of the the car and it was put back together (mainly depends on the insurance company which the $ amount can vary). Only thing is you can't get full coverage with insurance on a salvaged tittle car, well at least from the insurance companies i've delt with. Also you can sell a car for whatever price you want. DMV doesn't really care, just as long as you pay the TAX on it when you register it, which is why its common to have people ask can you write down you sold the car for $1,000 bux vs the xx,xxx amount you really paid for it. Anyhow, car is clean. S2000s are fun to drive. GLWS.

Thats right, my old car was salvaged but they just check if the brake lights work and that the headlights work (needs to be white). Very simple but a hassle. Some smog places in SoCal over that service. It cost me maybe $30 .

what i dont get if the car only had the bumper replaced they would not put a salvage title on the car???

unless the bumper cost 8 grand

I believe the bar behind the bumper was damaged too, I guess that would be considered frame damage, I'm not too sure but this is how I bought it..

DOOK
04-16-2008, 06:24 PM
bar behind the bumper would be the radiator support and it's possible of the radiator support was damaged then it could have a salvage title because of frame damage attached to the support...
