Yes, you need an alignment, and you're making it sound like you need tires and possibly basic driving lessons as well.

yeah... id definately recommend an alignment, its almost impossible to "eyeball" toe, the slightest degree can throw it out of wack. and also the tires youre using, obviously, can affect the performance in wet conditions.

i second the tires, and an alignment, it should handle the same in both wet or dry conditions unless you mean its running through massive puddles hydroplaning

I drove my 240 in WI winters for 4 years with no problems. If you can't drive when it's wet out, tires and a driving school is gonna do you some good.

sounds like you need to learn to drive
and MAYBE an alignment
i drove on bald dry rotted tires in the snow FINE, except on inclines then i was fucked.

get alignment and drive more in the rain so you learn how to control your car. check the life of your tires because 240sx within 1.5rpm you can already break the traction due to its good amount of torque. dont forget to add lsd too so itll be more predictable against an open diff.

I had problems with my first car in the rain ('82 Trans Am). But, that was because the carb was bad and there was no way to ease into the gas; it would sputter until you hit the gas hard enough and then it'd shoot up to ~3500 and spin the tires :-\

is an alignment expensive?

lol...
take it to a shop...there replace your faulty parts and keep you safe...
I cant imagine the abuse your tires are taking from alignment...you must smell rubber when driving on dry?
if it pulls hard in rain..

is an alignment expensive?
$79 at sullivan tire with a 3 month warrenty.
well worth the money...if you suspension parts around you need to adjust. with alignment

Also think about subframe bushings, no doubt they are worn really bad. My subframe on my old S14 was pretty loose in the rain, but I put collars in and it made a noticeable difference in stability.
I have solids in my S13, and there is no comparison.

Dont be so rough on him guys... I thought everyone wanted to drive sideways in these things, so nobody takes the time to figure out how to drive straight in them. lol j/k.
I have yet to encounter the rain in my car but I am in DIRE need of an alignment.

This is Zilvia remember.
My S13 hydroplanes easily in the rear due to the ~53/47 weight split(S13 hatch) and RT615's with a "bit" of negative camber. It's not fun, and I can drive just fine. Not much you can do if that's what's happening.
It'll pull the ass left or right really quick as the rear lifts up on a puddle and one is in deeper water then get traction and snap back.

I tossed studs on my car and drove a RB25DET in the snow all winter this last one. fine all winter, only problem is when some jackass stopped on a vary steep part of the pass in new wet snow over ice and i had to go get another run at it.

FUCK YEA its always fun in the rain when you know how to control your car :bigok:
how did no one not mention his BLOWN COILOVER?
i bet one of the reasons you suck in the rain is that youre bouncing on one side like youre on hydrolics. the other is your hick job of an alignment. tires won't make it want to kick out, although it makes kicking out easier. tires will not SOLVE your problem, but might hide it better. You should be able to drive on wet with a properly aligned car on roller skate wheels.
oh...and driving classes.

I don't want to hear any more excuse about bad weather. I drove my S13 with SR on full stiff coilovers, summer tires, and 2 way diff for 2 years in all 4 seasons, including light snow.
I'm not a superstar driver or anything. If I can do it, you can do it. I've only had one close call but I knew I was pushing it.

Are you sure that your coilovers are in good working order? Because if one is blown, the rear end is gonna want to kick out.

New tires + J30 VLSD
Ditch your mismatching coilovers and get some koni yellows and eibach springs.
I've used that combo on my past two cars (05 Accord, 00 Celica GT-S).
There's like a synergy between them. It's beautiful.

i havnt found a place that does alignment with warrenty yet.. firestone told my dad they dont do it because someone could hit a curb the second they come out and they'd have to do it again...
