your better off sticking sr20 if your even THINKING about price. Its probably a good 7-10 grand to get the rb26 to fit and work, not to mention the parts you'd want to replace to do it right. to do it RIGHT, and by right i mean rebuilding the engine with OE shit, milling the head and block, and doing a clean wiring job, I could easily see myself spending 15 grand for 300 hp. For 15 grand you could pull the sr20, get a stroker kit, cams, larger injectors, ecu upgrade, et cetera and be pushing probably 500 if tuned right.

Honestly, this is the stupid shitpeople like you get neg repped for because most the people on this site have huge e-cocks. Im not going to, but i guarantee its comming. Not trying to be an ass here, just want you to know.

just start doing research on an rb26 swap. ive heard numbers starting around $6,000, and usually I hear around $10,000 for a full rb26 swap, without cutting corners.

just get out there and do some research. Everyone here will have a biased opinion, and tell you "this is what you should do" but the best advice i can give you, is to make up your own mind, based on the facts, and personal experiences with engine owners. (not that whole.."my friends, friend knew a guy with an bla bla bla")

good luck.

rb26 is just for show

for the money you will spend to install and buy a rb26, you could make a lottttt of power on a sr20

if you really wanted a "skyline motor" just go rb25, some really good threads on here about rb25's, it will be cheaper then a rb26 but more then a sr20

example of a greatttt rb25 thread

It really depends on how much hp you want to push? If you just want 300hp and mildely drive it then I would say just do your standard bolt ons. If you want more than let the machine shop do their jobs.

If you want 500hp or more for daily use, RB is the way to go. Otherwise, save your money.

why dont you sell the sr20 and just buy the rb and do it the first time? just so you dont have to pay twice the labor cost which prolly will be the same amount as your sr. if you really want the rb, drive the KA tills its gone, save those pennys and do it right the first time.

Well if you already have the SR, then stick with it. Way more cost effective, and it's a dam good motor.

500hp grows annoying as a daily :P
It sure is fun though lol

Meh, RB is too long, tall, and heavy IMO. It's really easy to spend $10,000 on just a swap without any actual engine work. I want a VQ or a LS-1, but I'll probably end up with a SR since I can get one soooooooo cheap.

SR FTW, its small, light and has power. instead of spending a bunch more on a rb u can have a high hp sr.

Yep, it really depends what the car is for too.

I got the RB because I'm using my 240 for dragging and just messing around on the street mostly. Having that perfect weight balance for cornering and whatnot isn't crucial. Not to mention it's just flat out baller to have an RB26.

Either way, you could build one hell of an SR for 10k. The OP should probably just do that unless he's got money to burn.

This is true. I'm a fan of the Skyline myself. I have dreamed of owning an R32 since i first saw one, but doing the swap to your 240 isn't a good idea. Just put in the SR and enjoy it. You won't feel a difference.

I have an SR and i regret it, for the money i should it got me a RB25 ,BUT the RB25/26 swap labor (if a shop do it) its around 4000K , RB25 its 2250 or 2500 depending where u get it and ur hook ups. SR swap its way cheaper than RB's i have a blacktop S13 making close to 400 to the wheels , ( i dont work in my engine, i pay a shop) only in the whole turbo upgrade top mount and turbo it was over 2000K yes ,(custom manifold) plus the other goodies like PFC,inj, cams,FMIC, and electronics u spend a fortune , why i want a RB26 cause it doesn't require that much custom work to make it 450-500 BUT it cost u (including motor and labor) easy 10000K
an RB25 its the cheapest option and can be fast too. and the best of RB's for me its how it SOUND pure sex
my buddy runs a RB26TT he changed the turbos and put 2 T28's car is flying now, hes over 400WHP running it with a NEO

i love rb25

but you have to think if your going to daily it,

if its your daily... stock up on parts

the reason its really good to go sr20 because you can find replacement parts pretty quickly, if not very easy because you could use sentra se-r parts for the most part

on the other hand rb25, is harder to get what you need.... youll have to pre order almost everything
i dont know rb25's but im pretty sure your local dealer doesnt have rb25 oil filters, so just changing your oil might be a hassel??

just a thought
