floor mounted pedals?

i want some adjustable pedals so why not convert to some floor mounted goodness?

is it worth it to convert? better driving feel?
i don't want to throw money at my car if i don't see a reasonable gain

tilton makes kits for this, iirc wilwood does also. they're universal iirc so you hafta custom mount everything. unless ur building a serious race machine, or have an obscene amount of $ lying around, i don't see any real point to installing this type of setup.

Though, I have been in a rail-buggy that had the floor mount setup with roller pedals. Felt smooth. But I guess it was all one-off parts he made himself. So that makes it not AS worthless. That doesn't make sense.

For a street car, it's probably going to be a waste of money.

For a race car, if properly setup, they're awesome. You'll need to put in more force, but you'll get a better feel. And as long as you size the master cylinders correctly in relation to the calipers that you're using, it will have great balance. And the ability to adjust the bias front to rear is always nice to have on a race car.

But also keep in mind that the pedal box and master cylinder assembly isn't short. So you're going to have to do some work. This could be getting a spacer for the steering wheel and moving the seat back. Or modifying the firewall, but the downpipe would be in the way normally. Or some other type of work to get them to fit in a more compact location than they're designed to fit. So it's not going to be a buy pedal box/master cylinders, bolt up, run lines and drive type of thing.

agree. back when andy yen used to drive for autolink they had that setup on the car. "Properly set up" is easier said then done. he really had to mash on them. EDIT: they werent happy with the set up.

and there is not gas pedal in that pedal setup

Besides for it looking dope as shit and you being able to say that you chande your pedals to a pedal box set up ... thats a very costly modification...

An oem nissan braking system, like z32 or 350z/skyline brembos, with a larger master cylinder and a proportioning valve is the last steps in a street cars braking system that needs to be done...

Plus ,Someone Correct me if im wrong, you cant have vaccum assist with a pedal box.

Personally i DO NOT want or think a pedal box is suitable for the street....

Spend that money on something else...if you car is a STREET CAR.

Orido-san ran floor mounted pedals on his Ridox supra(currently) and then later on his Ridox/RSR supra. He said he loved them, but was used to them from running JGTC.
