Hahaha you guys are so ignorant.

Forced Performance has been making Big28's for DSM guys for yearssss. They're absolutely legit, using authentic Garrett parts as far as I know.

The Big28 is basically a T28 hot side with a T3 cold side, in a T28 housing. It's a poor man's GT2871 .64 ~ not ball bearing, and not quite as good of a compressor side, but it's close enough. I've seen people top 300whp with these easily. For $450 brand new/barely used (no shaft play), I'd do it.

I bought one for my redtop but a rod started knocking before I had a chance to install it. That appears to be a good deal.

are you guys stupid? Big28 is made by Forced Performance.
They are a big name in the turbo business, dont know why you havn't heard of them.

A B28 is a T25 with larger compressor. It can make 340WHP, but there is dispute about it being inefficient at that level. Its a good turbo for around 300WHP.

//edit. damn you guys post fast! I wanted to call them out first!

Had to quote this for truth...

"Big 28" is NOT an eBay deal...UNLESS it's advertised on eBay like that.

MAKE SURE it's a FP turbo...and you'll be good to go.

Wow the first few replies must be newbs to the turbo world. Good to go if its an authentic FP turbo. Search for their 20g upgrade if you guys want to see a bigger turbo from them. So far its done over 440hp/430tq on a stock bottom end sr20det. Not bad for a $900 bottom mount turbo.

Heres a link to a car running it-

The BigT28 is NOT a chinese knockoff. I am running one on my car and have been for 4 years. It's a great little turbo. If I were upgrading my stock turbo today, that it probably not what I would go with unless the price was right, and at $450 thats a decent deal. Id go 2871R or something larger. There weren't a ton of options 4-5 years ago, and I was slightly limited on funds. However, for what it is it makes good power and is good for an easy 300hp, more with cams.
This was an old dyno plot that looked really bad so I transcribed it into Excel. It was done at ~17 psi IIRC with basically stock sr, with 550cc injectors,z32 MAF and a PowerFC. Now I am running the same turbo with a rebuilt bottom end, HKS 264 Step I cams and a Freddy intake. While I haven't dynoed it yet, it feels immensely faster even at 15psi.
