so i just swapped in s s14 sr20det into my s14. put it in wired it up connetced hoses and all that. but when i started it up it runs like s**t, its smoking it, idles at 500 rpm, it dosnt feel like reving up.
but i was just wouldering if someone could let me know if i did everything right like: vacume lines (where do i run them, which to block off and which not to), fuel lines( i have one extra fuel line that i dont know where it goes ao i just plugged it off??) and anything else that could help to know. and if its possible could someone take a pic of how everything should look when hooked up right (i have a stock s14 sr20det, only upgrade is front mount and downpipe)

pics would help but, for one, you shouldn't have any extra fuel line hoses, there's an inlet and return line. try checking the timing. what color smoke is coming out of the exhaust. as for vacuum lines, there should be one running from the top of the throttle body to the fuel pressure regulator right above it. then the other one on top of the throttle body to the wastegate actuator where the turbo is, it will look like a brass piece with a nipple on it. then there's a vacuum line nipple right under the throttle body, for a stock setup..that should be blocked off. as for the engine as a whole, is it the first time its been started in years? did you buy it from a reputable place or did you do internal work and now its not working correctly? more info is needed

the smoke from the exhaust was blackish. but the engine was bought from someone not a shop, no internal work. wasnt started for about 6 months, until i started it recently
mototrs first started p will usually smoke you outa the garage, how long did you run it?
also play with the cam angle sensor..

Im guessing you have an OBD-II car, my 97 had that shit. Its basically the vent line from your gas tank that would go to a charcoal canister. Dont plug it, just leave the hard line open and let it vent.

when i started it it ran like s**t so i only ran it for almost 1 min. it was running really really rich and pouring black smoke from the exhaust. i dont really want to play with the CAS cause if i mess it up i wont know how to fix it
