Wheel diameter.. and usually there is about 5-8 mile too high discrepancy on these older cars. Its just how it is. Also gear ratio...

Its just because things go off as they get old, mine is about 4 miles off so just conpensate with your driving. If you must find out exactly how fast you are going or see how much you are off get a gps and compare :)

hmm, most of the are accurate, Ive used a Garmin and another kind and both gave me the same readings. Now if you actually need a good gps Garmins are excellent, and I hear the TOM TOMS are good too, especially for their price.

yea now a days they have gotten quite cheap too. I care about accuracy mostly...

Aside from gps/map browsing/whatever, a gps based speedo would be cool lol... only speed, is there such a thing built on the cheap? So one can adjust their speedo...

1. GPS are cheap now a days to get
2. What I would be interested in is something super cheap JUST for speed readings through GPS; so I can use it for getting accurate speed reading + have the ability to adjust a non accurate analog/digital/whatever car speedo.
