I'm looking for 4x114.3 (4x4.5?) lug pattern rims in 15*7 or wider size. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
For those of you trying to get rid of stock steelies/rims, those are a measly 6" wide, in other words, I don't want them!

Kosei, Volk, SSR, Advan, Work, Watanabe, Panasport etc. rims preferred, but of course, I will entertain offers of lower quality (read: cheaper) rims as well. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

email to [email protected]_removemefirst_hotmail.com or PM me with the rims that you're looking to sell me. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

yes, while I've been to alta... I hate their prices! I mean seriously, $1200 for a set of SSR Mesh 15x7 with low profile tires? ... &nbsp;I understand there are ppl with the cash, but I'm not one of them!

(also, I'll be up at big bear this weekend. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;we can go some other time! I hope you know the guys there, because my ass is still a little tender from the last time I checked them out.)

Adey, what are the phone number to the shops that you are talking about. &nbsp; And where are they located? &nbsp; And dousan36, the shop that you are talking about, do they sell mesh rims that look like SSR mesh. &nbsp; If so let me know the name of that shop. &nbsp;Sorry to just on your post, but i'm in the same situtation with my ae86. &nbsp; If anybody can help e-mail me at [email protected]

ok truenoboy. i was a dick to you no FA but ill be nice to you here. alta is a shop in la. they charge about 1500 sometimes for 15x7 low offset. loewr offset means higher price. the more they clean the wheel, th emore they charge.

Adey,
&nbsp;you've seen my red advans right? &nbsp;wanna buy them? &nbsp;make me an offer if you like them! &nbsp;i might post them up for sale soon... i need money for other stuff. &nbsp;they're 15x7j, +32 all around. &nbsp;205/60/15 trampio (jspec toyo) tires, 5% tread left on two of them, 30% tread left on the others. &nbsp;i have pictures, just email me. &nbsp;in my opinion these are the coolest rims i could ever afford... so make me a yummy offer if you like them. &nbsp;remember my SSR's? &nbsp;sorry the deal didn't go through... but it's either the SSR's or the Advans...

oh yeah, also have a set of 16x7j, +40 eagle alloy five spoke wheels, nicely painted flat black with nearly new tires. &nbsp;these are perfect for that disgusting i'm-trying-to-look-cool-but-i-have-really-bad-taste look. &nbsp;cheap tho.

drop me an email if interested! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

by the way alta doesn't have that good of a selection right now. &nbsp;i just went this past weekend. &nbsp;lots of long champs for hachi's and some nasty 14" mesh laying around... and they're seriously overpricing everything. &nbsp;if you want to go email me, i'll tag along... since i've bought from them before i could maybe get you a better price? &nbsp;i haggle too much... it's probably because i'm chinese... or maybe i'm just cheap... &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

ahhh, I totally missed this post.
Danny, come on man, you know you want to sell me those SSRs! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':look:'> &nbsp;I pay you premium price! Advans? i only saw them when you were driving, so all I know is that the middle is painted red! that's pretty cool though (I guess...)
I'd love to stop by alta some time to see what they have... maybe this weekend? do you know when they're getting their next shipment in?
email me/post pics of your advans! [email protected]_removemefirst_hotmail.com

adey, i sent you an email with some pictures, let me know what you think. &nbsp;as for the SSR's... i don't think i'll be selling them... unless someone offers me $1500 for them! &nbsp;hahaha... i would like to sell one set, and if i had to choose b/t the advans and the SSR's, i think i'd rather keep my golden babies. &nbsp;so feel free to make me an offer!

yeah, alta run this weekend would be cool. &nbsp;they're open 7 days.. which day is best for you? &nbsp;i'd prefer saturdays and sundays, friday is possible but it's not fun trying to get there and back in traffic. &nbsp;maybe dousan and itsybitsy can come along and we'll have a minature meet and/or touge run?

let me know!

Why don't we say saturday? I've got an appointment on Sunday already. What do you guys think? Meet up for late lunch/noodle, stop by Alta (not that I even have cash), then touge later/late that night? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

sunday's good for me... touge late at night is kinda scary, too many not-so-cool people are up there late at night. &nbsp;i like to go real early in the morning or just cruise it in the afternoon.

not sure when alta closes on sunday... i could call and find out.

i'll email all of you guys...

Shinchu180sx - sorry, for some reason I never saw the last 2 posts made by you.
Anyway no, I don't run with negacamb, I don't know the guys, and I didn't know there was a 'team' (what do you call it?) by that name. I was just messing around being silly... and thought it'd be cool to have a driving club/group/team called "neg-camb!" ... I guess my idea's already been realized by someone else though huh!

That said, unfortunately I do not know Jeff with the White AE86. I am only on club4ag occasionally, and do not have an account (login/pass) with them. They're more of a resource than a place that I 'hang out' (that would be zilvia.)...

Hmm, so what what are the specs on your cars, and will you be bringing it/one/both to Speedtrials this saturday? If you are, I'll see you there, if not, I'll see you at DDay 4. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
Alta is about 2 1/2 hours from SD... I drove to SD (from down town) tonight, picked up my dad, then drove him to LAX... all in the span of 5 hours. -_- that was not fun. Anyway, I digress.

Nice! The cars sound good. Other than the blown KA.
Do you race either car (or rather, the AE86) competitively at all? AutoX? Solo1/2? or just drift events?
If you don't compete in SCCA autox events (the competitive ones) what made you decide to go the spring/shock route rather than coilovers?
See you at DD4!

edit: 6" steering wheel spacer!?!?! You must be TALL!!

SHINCHU
12-06-2002, 11:19 AM
haha well im not super tall, but 6 foot isnt short. and my arms were too straight (had to reach too far) with the stock wheel and i hit my knee on it whenever i heel-toe downshifted. so i figured 6 inch spacer would do the trick since the spats wheel had no dish to it at all and the stock one had about 4 inch dish. so i figured adding 2 inches would solve the problem. now i can dance under there!! hahaha and people always double take when they look in my cockpit on the 86. "omigod! what is that!!?!"

i didnt go with coilovers on my ae86 because:
A) ae86 is known as a budget racer so not many companies make them
B) it already had tokico HP shocks so whynot stick with them?
C) full coilovers for ae86 would run about $1,400 and its really not worth it. you can achieve the same effect with a good adjustable set of shocks, and carefull selection of springs (height, rate)

i am going with coilovers on my 240 though. i already have the AGX shocks for the front and after i get my engine in, the next thing i buy will be the ground controls for my car. then i will pull the rear susp. from a non-hicas car and put the agx/GC combo on the back. i just want to get adjustable hieght on my 240 since the fender gap between front and rear is screwey, and i want to be able to corner wieght it for autocross (eventually). and it would be cool to "SLAM THAT SUCKA" every once in a while. admit it, s13 looks sick when dumped. on 17s. with correct offset.

as for racing, im not a member of SCCA yet, but i plan on it. i went to an autocross on oct. 24th at qualcomm stadium and i was hooked so i plan on entering my ae86 on the next event possible.

drifting,
i hope to be able to go to DD4 if there are still spots left i hope i can bring both my s13 and my 86. depends how ready both are when the time comes. if niether are ready i'll sell my spot to someone else. i know at least i have to replace a lug stud on my s13 for tech inspection. who knows what else will go wrong between then and now. my work is cut out for me and this navy pay isnt making things easy.

mods, feel free to move this to general discussion. i know this thread has kinda swayed from the rims topic. sorry!

chris
