I have searched and found nothing. I am in the process of swapping my red top in, and I am stuck at the drive shaft going into the transmission. I can feel on the inside of the drive shaft that there are two gaps in the splines opposite each other, but there are no visible larger male splines on the transmision side. Am I supposed to line these marks up with some part of the transmission? Or does this not matter? Please if someone could provide some input it will be greatly appreciated.

Is the transmission bolted to the transmission mount? If so, remove the transmission mount and lower the tailshaft with a transmission jack about 2". The propeller shaft should slide right in.

It should just slide right in. If not right away with minor possitioning. Put it in the trann first before you bolt it up to the diff.
Does it look like osmething is possibly damaged on the inside of transmission, like a snapped output shaft or something like that?

Yes, it should just slip right in.
if you're getting resistance.. try lubing both the female and male splinds on both the DS and tranny.
Also.. check for possible damage? on either side of the splines.
