**Update post #7**
Hi,
Ive been having random bogging issues recently..
When im on the gas (not even flooring it or anything), the car will surge forward and bog randomly.. It does it in almost every gear, like once or twice a day. As soon as it bogs or jumps forward, ill step on the clutch, then press the gas again, and itll be fine.
Today, i was driving home, and stepped on the gas to make the light.
My car acted like it hit redline at like 2.3-2.5k rpms.
I couldnt rev it above 2.5 even if i floored it, in every gear, even neutral.
I shut it off, and when i turned it back on it ran fine.
Ive changed my fuel filter, spark plugs, and cleaned my MAF.
Im thinking ill have to check my timing and clean my throttle body.
From the searches ive done, im thinking if that doesnt solve it ill have to change the fuel pump.
Anyone else have any other input?
Thanks in advance,
Zac

what motor do you have? I had a similar problem with my stock KA. turns out my coolant temp sensor and fuel pump were bad. once i replaced those it ran like a champ.

check fuel injectors. they might be clogged. check o2 sensors, check for vacuum leaks.

That is almost certainly an electrical problem, cleaning your throttlebody will do nothing. Could be MAF, TPS, coolant sensor, ECU (unlikely), broken wires, dirty connections, pretty much anything. It really needs to be a hard fault or at least consistent enough to set a check engine light before you can really figure it out. Sorry man, but there is no easy answer for this! I hope you know how to use a multimeter and have access to a scan tool and wiring diagrams. :-/

yeah i would definetely clean your MAF as a first step troubleshooting, then move onto fresh spark plugs.

Ok, turns out that i have a knock sensor code.
I got it scanned through the OBD2 port and it turned up with code 0325, which is the knock sensor one.
My CEL bulb was out so i replaced it. The light doesnt stay on while i drive the car around though.
I was a bit puzzled as to why the CEL didnt stay on, so i checked it manually through the ECU and it came up with code 34, which is the knock sensor code again.
(Anyone know why the CEL wouldnt stay on while im driving?)
Anyway, i suppose ill have to check the wiring to the knock sensor and all that because i heard its pretty rare for the knock sensors themselves to go out.
Ive looked around for a little and cant find any walk-through on it, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Ill be doing more research and everything but every bit helps.
Thanks,
Zac

Hmmkay.
Changed the knock sensor today.
Took like 15 min to take out and about 2 hours to get it back in.. (didnt take off the intake mani.
For those searching, i used this:

I heard it was rare for the knock sensor itself to go out, but when i took it out, it had a crack on the rubber.
Replaced it, checked my codes, got 82 (Crankshaft position sensor).
Reset codes, drove it around, CEL light on again..
Reset it, drove around a longer time, didnt come back on..
Hopefully thats the end of that.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP!
