Okay tried searching and read multiple posts about door locks and alarms. Each problem seems to be different from each other including mine.

I'm almost done with the install of a Crimeguard 750i in my 89 S13 w/stock power windows/locks. The alarm features work except the door locks. I tapped into orange/black and orange/blue in the driver kick panel.

When I ARM the system, both doors lock. GOOD.
When I DISARM the system, only the passenger side unlocks. BAD. :-/

The alarm was "specified" for the 89 S13 it's going in and therefore came with some preassembled relays for the doors (Crutchfield). The problem is that they are designed for multiple applications (extraneous wires) and the diagrams are numerous, and vague. I assume we have a "3 wire negative door lock circuit". Does the 89 S13 have "Driver Door Lock Unlock Prority"? The latter diagram is more complex involving 4 wires and locating the Nissan Doorlock Relay Control Unit.

Just thought I'd ask before I wasted more time and possibly blew a bunch of fuses. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have that wiring info and a FSM. I also printed out multiple alarm install writeups for S chassis that I googled. Crutchfield also sends charts and install instructions. Still stumped.

Anyone else got any suggestions?

Can't help you but you should try posting at the12volt.com

that's where I'm reading to get some info on my alarm install soon. do you think you could also post the s chassis writeups that you found? I only found one so far and its really good but if there's more, I'd like to check em out.

it maybe in the actual setting that you have to program via valet switch to have it double pulse and open the drive side as well. (In most cases its the driver side that unlocks first). My buddy's S13 had a bad keyless entry module so we had to go directly to the motor, If this is the case you may need to 5-wire the actual motor located behind the glove box.

a buddy installed my alarm, very standard one. no lock relays, nothing special. he went into the driver door window/lock relay and tested the pins to determine which wires and he was done with the locks. I always thought s13 locks were a headache. I will pull my panel off tomorrow and see which wires are used.

I hear conflicting stories like this. I think there is more than one way this can be done. Maybe it's more complex if you're keeping the factory lock timer (I don't even know what it is/does).

I've had two alarms installed in two S13's before and the installers never made a fuss about the auto door locks and they worked fine.

This is the first time I'm installing it and I get the feeling it's not as complicated as some of the diagrams I've seen online make it seem...

Please let me know what you find and whether relays were involved. Thx.

SOHC cars are indeed a negative trigger. Do this, take a test light, or even a piece of wire, ground it, then touch the door lock wires, orange/blue and orange/black. If they both lock and unlock, you have a problem in the alarm itself, if they don't or act weird then the driver side door lock actuator is bad since it's the control side. Replace it.

if you manually unlock the driver door does the passenger door unlock if it does put a door lock acuator in the door
