Simple question. What's the shortest steering wheel hub on the market for an S13?

This is the shortest I've found: http://www.frsport.com/Splash-Works-Bell-618s-Short-Steering-Wheel-Hub-Kit-S13_p_7714.html

Cheaper price: http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EM&Product_Code=RAP620S

Even cheaper price: http://www.tougefactory.com/shop/?shop=1&cat=315&cart=325658&itemid=845

Not looking for suggestions for quick release. Just a hub.

Thanks.

Use a steel steering wheel...cut the center out of your stock wheel, and weld that to the steel wheel.

That's what I did..welded, and used 3 bolts 'just in case'.

No hub to loosen or break on track = warm and fuzzy feelings.

I think the NRG hub is shorter than the Splash hub, but it isn't much difference. But I only recommend S13 to go with NRG.

I don't have a stock wheel and this wouldn't fit my quick release anyway.

The hub is getting welded onto the steering column and the quick release is getting welded onto the hub.

Preference. Plus the quick release puts the wheel further out.

I know. I'll get it welded solid so it becomes a hub :)

so you want your wheel to be farther away than stock?

OKAY
do you drive an s13 or s14...
i have an s13...with a works bell hub..the normal one from tougefactory for like 65 dollars. and if you even put the quick release on that..its like perfect driving position..
but thats just my opinion

so you want your wheel to be farther away than stock?

I already have the quick release and wheel I want. I want the hub to be as short as possible to put the wheel as far away from me as possible.

I have a Momo hub right now and it's too close for comfort.

a short hub + standard size QR puts a standard corn wheel just about in the stock position. deep corn wheel will be slightly farther out.

short hub+short quick release will put a standard corn wheel father away than stock.

having ONLY a short QR welded between your steering column and your steering wheel would be a lot farther away.

Thanks for the tip, but not relevant to my question. I just want the shortest hub. The rest I already have figured out.

I have a works bell and I love mine too :D

But I said I think the NRG is shorter, but the works bell/splash is better only if you have a S14 because of the srs wheel. If you have an S13 it doesn't matter.

Also I have a works bell short hub + FET thin quick release + standard corn steering wheel and it works just perfect for me.

only thing splash makes it unique is the srs airbag bypass harness.

Not really, the nismo S14 hub comes with one as well.

And anyway, you can make one from scratch at radio shack. It's not going to look as pretty, but it'll get the job done.

The only thing unique about the splash/wb hubs is that you keep the srs wheel.

have you guys thought of tekniq? I heard they're nice and very well made.

On tougefactory, the works hub is 65 so is that for only S13 or also for S14?

Actually, I'm using their patented quick release. It was the best for me from everything I looked at. Nice guys as well. http://www.tekniqauto.com/

I heard they're nice and very well made.

I like the Snap-Off Street with the key lock. I've had it for 2 years and very happy. It stood up to a lot of V8 abuse :rl:

Can you ask the vendor directly?

Steering wheel location is all preference.

I love my steering wheel close. I have a regular hub. 25mm spacer. Ball type quick release and a deep cone wheel.

I fucking love it. Toss the gangster lean in the seat, DONE.

I'm 5'10" and I'm not sure how long my arms are.

I can't verify it, but I've seen both and handled both in person and the NRG SEEMED shorter. I have no proof because I didn't measure both, but it can't be much of a difference.

Keep in mind that technically Works Bell products and Splash products are the same

Works Bell is the original manufacturer for Splash

So if you buy any steering wheel products from Splash, you are buying authentic Works Bell made items as well

On tougefactory, the works hub is 65 so is that for only S13 or also for S14?

The Works Bell Standard S14 hub is $100 MSRP

Edit: NRG has only the Momo pattern. Works Bell short appears to only work with the Works Quick Release.

I have to go with Circuit Sports because this unit has both Momo and Nardi pattern.
