i just got a 240sx and i have that rattling noise coming from the timing chain problem. i was just wondering how would i check the oil pressure before i do anything. thanks. and could using different oil fix the rattling problem without even removing the guides?

oil pressure isn't really a matter of "checking"...it's an issue of monitoring it to prevent loss of lubrication making engine go boom. Get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. Then, probably the easiest way to hook it up would be to get an oil filter "sandwich" adapter which is a plate that screws in between the block and your oil filter (making a sandwich...get it?!?! lol). Screw in the sensor, plug it into the gauge, and voila!!

alrite thanks. because i am having that marble in a can rattling noise coming from the chain hitting the guides. i am about to remove the 2 guides and clean the tensioner and see if it gets rid of the noise

You can just unscrew the stock oil pressure sender and screw in your sensor. That's what I did, you don't need the dummy light on the dash if you have a gauge.

You just phuxed up your threads then son. Ka's and Sr's come with bspt threads that are close to the normal npt threads but they are a little different.

I'm surprised nobody else has said this (probably because it wasn't exactly your question), But removal of the timing chain guides can eliminate that "rattling in a can" noise that you're experiencing. Nissan has even regarded them as unnecessary. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g102/Annie907/timingchain.gif
Since you're new, here's a link to removing the guides (http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=105618).

Incorrect. I bet you a dollar my Greddy oil pressure sensor has the same 1/8" BSPT. paypal to: [email]

or you can tee into the turbo lines if they are after market. install a line from the sending unit to the fitting you add on your line.
do not directly mount the sending unit to the fitting without the line even if it fits and works. the sending unit can break off and be the cause of losing oil and starving the engine wouldn't that be an ironic bitch
