So, it was really really windy here this weekend. My coupe shell/parts car that is hiding back behind my shop was missing the drivers window cause I sold it. Needless to say, the car is now missing a windshield, the wind must pushed it out or something. I now it was not anyone screwing with the car.

With the windshield not in the car, do I need to attempt to support the roof or something? I am not going to spend $$$$$ on putting a new one in it. And its a rust free coupe which are impossible to find up here, so I do not want the roof or something to be damaged/tweak from the windshield being out for long period of time(if it would happen). Suggestions on if I should do anything about it?

lol...it blew out the windshield?!...

umm.in a few race cars i have seen a metal like beam that goes from the center of the roof to the middle of the bottom (of where the windshield would go)

I have two S13 projects at the moment. That car well need 10k+ to get it running/driving/stopping.....

I would build it for someone, if they paid me $$$$ but at the moment we have on intrest in working or spending $$$ on it. Space isnt an issue, so its just chilling until someone buys it, or we get the itch to bring it to the tech school for paint and body work, cage it, and put a ls1 in it.

The roof is fine. I would go ahead and scrape all the residual sealant though and prime the area. The windshield frame is known for forming rust, especially if it's ever been pulled before, since the tool gouges the paint exposing the bare metal underneath.

Its fine. That's what your A,B, and C pillars are for.

Thanks guys.

When it gets warm, I will have to take some spray paint out there.

Also, your roof is very thin and lightweight. Take your head liner out once and give a tap on the roof. lol.

unibody cars................ On some of them, the front of the roof can collapse from not having the windshield in.

Correct. The 1st generation Saturns were notorious for this. People tried to save the $1200 dealer cost by going to a hack glass place, ended up with a totaled car when the roof collapsed.
